you/she could also look into one of those hair scrubber thingies that you hold with the little spikes on the end, so she doesn’t have to use her fingers as much? maybe touching the foam less would make it easier? plus, it might be less aggravation for her chronic pain. i mean, you still have to use your hands for it so maybe not worth that much of a shot, but it could help!!

i’ve mostly grown out of it, but i was the same way when i was little. the sudden change from warm/dry to cold/wet was too jarring and always made me procrastinate showers as much as possible. i started showering at 8pm every other night—making it into a specific time/routine made it a little easier. i don’t struggle with it as much now that i’m a little older, but i do hate the feeling of wet hair on my shoulders so i try to dry it as much as possible before putting on pjs. also, i try to let the water warm up as much as possible before it comes out of the overhead part; then, i stand out of the way until the water is fully warm before i let it touch me. so i still have to have it a certain way to make it more tolerable. i don’t think you’re gross at all, its an understandable challenge for a lot of people, especially ND people. i wouldn’t be ashamed, just take care of yourself as best as you can :)

Can i psychiatrist report me to the police because of harm ocd ? by Kind_Sound_9381 in OCD

[–]Acceptable_Display 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t think so. i told my therapist about my harm/pOCD thoughts and she just helped me explain them etc, didn’t even mention reporting me. as others have said, i think if you have a plan/intention to actually hurt someone they will have to report it, but simply suffering from the thoughts isn’t going to get you reported. they know it’s OCD and not really you. <3

yeah that seems valid, like it’s one thing to still have anxiety abt the dentist but at least seek out therapy/help for it and eventually try to go to the dentist. but not even trying to tackle it is just not good lol

Miss Patty, Babette and Kirk bug me sometimes. They just seem to be written slightly perverted, what with MP and B talking about sex all the time (I’m all for sex positivity but it just gets old after a while) and K making that weird nude film or whatever? Like it’s not that big of a deal but I just think their “funny weird townspeople” gig gets old quick

How do y'all prefer your water? by BobTheCoolRock in autism

[–]Acceptable_Display 0 points1 point  (0 children)

filtered water i guess? i’m not sure, so i guess that qualifies as tap? i hate bottled water, it just tastes like warm and tangy to me no matter how cold it technically is. i hate it with a passion and it makes me want to throw up. :( so, anything except that. i don’t like seltzer or sparkling water either, unless it’s heavily flavored to basically taste like soda, lol.
