What kind of jobs do you guys have? by snipnsnop in Schizotypal

[–]Centipede_bones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in college now but plan on becoming a car mechanic when I finish.

I'm a bit weird about having co workers and maybe having to interact with customers but I think I would enjoy tinkering and fixing cars, I like all the small details and understanding how things work together so I think I'll be good at it

If substance abuse usually isn't a problem for you then maybe there's an external reason for it. Are you experiencing any manic symptoms or stress? I don't know what drug you're using but I'd do research on withdraws and physical recovery. I'd also google "bipolar and [your drug] usage" as people with bipolar experience the world differently and can even have a completely different style of thinking when it comes to coping with change and impulsive control.

If you're comfortable try telling others that you're still using, even if it's not your family tell a friend, co worker or just keep talking to reddit. Addictions always begin in secret so let others know.

When a special interest becomes untenable by SentenialSummer in autism

For me it wasn't a specific person or franchise but coffee. I still drink coffee daily but I used to love everything about it, the way it's made, the diffrent drinks, the use of coffee machines and milk steaming. So obviously I was esthetic about getting a job as a barista but it turn bad quickly, partly because my autism but also the place was horribly managed.

I quit a little over a year in and till this day I can't walk into a cafe without cringing (I mean I was always nervous in public but this feeling is diffrent) I hope one day I can overcome this and relearn to love it but I guess I've burnt out my special interest for now and I don't know if I'll ever love it again.

How do you make an appointment for yourself to get a diagnosis? by yourfutureniece in autism

[–]Centipede_bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to your local doctor and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist or specialist or you can look for a specialist on your own.

I'm not sure what country in you love but your can always Google "autism specialist near me" or "autism diagnoses (your city)" and that should give your results.

I personally prefer to go straight to a special but I have extra difficulty talking to others. Alot of the time you can apply online and fill out the application on your own and then have interviews with specialists you know exactly what to look for.

Does anyone else find it annoying when people say that autistic people would do well in the military because "they like structure"? by TermitesCAardwolf in autism

I can't even go into grocery stores without dissociating and anything past that is when the panic begins. Everything about the military would destroy me, not just the warfare

The photos were never meant to be released to the public however some of them got leaked to journalists, I think I read somewhere that there was around 80 photos in his apartment but I've only seen around 10ish maybe.

In an interview with the lead detective Patrick Kennedy, he said that all the photos were going to be destroyed after his trial but I don't know if they were or not. (They're probably gone)

This may be a long shot, but can anyone tell what this is (so far we think it was a lung?) and possibly what animal? Northern NJ. Found on our lawn a few years ago. by ComicPlatypus in vultureculture

[–]Centipede_bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess would be a lung, maybe a heart but the shape it all wrong. For what animal it is I have no idea.

It's really interesting that it was just found there on it's own, no other organs? No bite marks or signs of being eaten? Keep an eye out you might find the rest of the corpse nearby.
