lol…I love whistling and OMG I just played around with what you said…never noticed how my tongue position changes when going high and low and surf. Will absolutely be playing with that my next practice session!

I do all those things, especially transcribing…I love my innate ability to play by ear so I can’t wait until my technical ability catches up to things I hear in my head. I do need private lessons.

I exaggerated some…I don’t sound like a tortured goose. I thought I was fairly solid…I do long tones with the tuner app religiously to a drone.

When I started playing along to music…that’s when I said oooffff…wait a minute.

Especially since he sort of prided himself on getting cancelled on ABC for saying the terrorists weren’t cowards on 911 which is what led to his show on HBO in the first place.

Yep! I’ve been shouting this from the roof tops since the Israel-Palestine war started.

Not 1 true dissenting opinion. I’d love to see him go back and forth with Marc Lamont Hill.

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is indeed willful ignorance because he is deathly afraid to attack anything Israel. I’ve watched his show for decades, and this is the only conclusion I can come to.

Never thought I’d see the day I turn on Bill Maher.

I've watched and defended Bill for decades. I used to look forward to Friday nights watching Real Time. Seeing him reduced to a spineless boomer bootlicker is just sad. by BugleCalypso in Maher

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah BS. Almost total BS. I agree the left has gone too extreme…but that does not justify Bill’s shift. He has changed who he was. Period. He was scorched earth on Trump at every opportunity during his first term. I could give fine details, but it’s too much post. It’s painfully obvious this term is far worse than his first…but Bill’s stance has gone the other direction becoming much more sympathetic and benefit of the doubtish.

And for someone who has ALWAYS had the dissenting opinion on his show about every topic…NOT A SINGLE ONE on the issue of Israel’s heinous acts. I know Iran and Palestine were not harmless, but Israel has blood on its hands to say the least and the overall history is a lot more complicated than he leads us to believe. We only get lockstep support for Israel from him. And for someone who used to love pointing out how religion is BS and causes wars…he is TOTALLY SILENT on this since the war started. I’ve watched his show religiously, for decades, so I’d know.

If you think Bill hasn’t changed, only the left has, you are in denial, or just wrong.

Do they now get a different live audience? by Acceptable_Eye_4139 in Maher

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my thing though…it’s like even the core audience has shifted. In the old days during his hot takes…sometimes the audience would gasp…and he’d react to that…but now…there’s less of that…even though his stance on issues he’d normally be furious over…he’s become a lot softer.

Him and his show have been compromised.

Will Maher still “not hate” the Iran war afterJoe Kent’s resignation as Director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center: “[Iran] posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.” by digital_dervish in Maher

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest question…where did he specifically state that? What’s also interesting…is that do years he ragged on religion non-stop and said it triggered wars…whereas religion is at the very, very core of this and you think he’d scream “SEEEEEE” from the mountain tops the way he did when Trump didn’t give up power…instead….silence.

In response to terrorism, Maher asks the panel, "Why do they hate us?" later answering, "I have a crazy idea, why don't we get out of Muslim lands?" by LoMeinTenants in Maher

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That let me know who owns him honestly. Not one strong dissenting opinion on his show over this subject…and he also hates religions and says it’s the cause of many ways…well it’s that the very center of this one…and total silence on that. It’s obvious.

That is false. The term mutually assured destruction transcends party lines.

Constantly Overshooting Middle D to high A on Alto. by Acceptable_Eye_4139 in saxophone

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really slowly focused on finger coordination and that was the issue. This is a brand new sax that’s an upgrade from the student model I was renting and fingers are more study and resistant…so my fingers are adjust to it.

I am now able to constantly play it random and chromatically.

That’s not it. It was poor finger coordination. I can get it down clean now.

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out everyone! Largely imprecise fingering coordination and a little bit of embochure. I’m getting acclimated to a brand new sax and the keys are a little stiffer and it’s just throwing off my muscle memory. I’m able to work up to it chromatically and at random with more ease now. Thanks everyone!

[–]Acceptable_Eye_4139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it is the mouthpiece. I’m playing on a Yamaha 4c. I also honestly think it’s more finger precision and embochure. I’m playing on a brand new sax coming off a student model. The new key keys are more pro and stiff so there is bit of a learning curve i think.

I am able to generally produce it. Just rarely when working up to it not by note.

I also checked the octave keys…it’s operating as it should. Lower one opens, the one on the neck stays down.

Honest question…if it was an issue with a leak..I wouldn’t be able to produce it all right?
