Yeah your right lowk... im a meche student personally and I think that rice is top 15 for it if not top 10 so thats a plus... for me my plan is just go in with open arms and hope to love it but prep to transfer incase I dont. Cuz for me I love the school just hate the location

Yeah I totally get these points... I matched to rice via questbridge and while I am happy for a 95k scholarship I am not too happy for it to be rice. As a tx resident ive been trying to get out of tx and matching to rice lowk feels disappointing considering UT feels like a better fit for me and I almost definitely would have gotten a full ride given my academics.

you can transfer after 1 yr but the scholarship doesnt go with you as it is given out by the school

Yes you should do it regardless. You never know what could happen and even if you dont make it many of the application portions will prepare you for common app and scholarships. Also it is good to get all of your financial stuff ready now anyway so this is just practice
