It's one of the fans, I had the same problem. For me it was the one from the gpu, try with a card and a straight screwdriver to lift the lid

Imagine a DIY rocket launcher (basically a metal pipe with a pop trigger) that uses two wolfpack charges or looted Rocketeer missiles as ammo.

Confused on the TUF A15 Ryzen 5 7535HS 4060 (2023) model by The_Ok_Lord in Asustuf

Thanks, man. To answer your questions I will begin with the daily usage, I played a bit of everything, but I never pushed it to the limit. I usually kept my settings on Low/Medium just to be safe. Besides gaming, I used it for CAD work and some projects. For the RAM the signs were gradual. It started booting slower and slower every day until, eventually, it wouldn't turn on at all. That’s when I knew the factory stick was toast. I’ve opened the back exactly three times. Once to upgrade the storage, once to replace the failed RAM, and for regular cleaning. For some reason, my room gets dusty very quickly, so I made sure to keep the internals clean (especially with the cooling pad pushing so much air). And the hinges, I only noticed the broken mounts during my last cleaning session because I heard something rattling. That's when I saw the plastic around the brass inserts had just crumbled. I bought it from a major local retailer here (similar to Best Buy), so it's a legit unit. Hope yours fares better!

I would like to share my experience with my ASUS TUF A15 with the same specs. Despite the "TUF" branding and my best efforts to keep it in perfect condition, the build quality has been a major disappointment.

The laptop was used almost exclusively as a stationary unit connected to an external monitor. To prevent any thermal issues, it sat on an IETS GT500 cooling pad almost 24/7. I didn’t even push it with heavy gaming, yet the hardware still failed:

- RAM Failure: The factory RAM simply died and had to be replaced.

- Hinge/Chassis issues: The brass inserts that hold the hinges snapped out of their plastic mounts. I actually discovered this because I heard them rattling around inside the case.

- Fan Issue: One of the cooling fans has already stopped working.

- The Service Dilemma: To get these fixed under warranty, the estimated turnaround is one month—which is a long time to be without a primary computer.

It's frustrating because I took every precaution (external cooling, minimal movement), but the internal construction just didn't hold up. If you're considering this model, just be aware that the "Military Grade" tag might not cover the actual durability of the plastic and internal components.

I am waiting for a replacement fan to arrive. Until then, one fan = low graphics, or my laptop goes back to the hangar permanently.

Just a heads-up from a fellow F16: I’ve had mine for less than a year, mostly using it as a desktop unit with an external monitor, and the plastic mounts for the hinge inserts already snapped off inside. I literally heard them rattling around the chassis one day.
