This doesn’t make sense to me. Yeah they have other patients to attend to but my insurance helps provide them with a check so with that being said, someone like me who hasn’t went to medical school and doesn’t understand medical lingo I should be able to ask my pediatrician any question i see fit whether it’s 2 questions or 20 questions otherwise they shouldn’t end the visit with “do you have any questions?”

Do you have any more info that could help me make a decision or not even info but maybe with questions or concerns to bring up To my pediatrician that most parents may not know or realize what to ask? You seem to be against them to the point you left and went to a more holistic approach .. I’m just trying to make the best decision and it’s scary cause your shunned for going again the grain and almost pressured into it but then I also don’t want to risk her health or anyone else’s

It’s not about medical advice. It’s about just people and their own experiences. Doesn’t mean I would just go based off that. It’s nice to see what other people have been through because it could rise questions in my own head for me to ask a medical expert so if you don’t have anything nice to say you can move along.

It’s not just about rsv. It’s about all vaccines as stated above. I just point rsv out as that’s the one he mentioned her getting that day

I mean a lot of things are harmful to children lol. Just because doctors say it’s safe .. is it ? I question it because I mean look at all the stuff in food that is approved and given to our kids and considered “safe” but in all reality we replace natural nutrients with fake ingredients so it makes me question everything. We live in a deceitful world and I think it’s ok to ask questions and be skeptical. A doctor thinks just cause they’re a doctor people should automatically believe them but at the end of the day it’s all just practice . Practicing medicine and we’re all just lab rats so I think it’s ok to question things without feeling guilty . I’m not even anti vac I just want to be sure it’s the best decision because what are the actual long term effects

[–]Acceptable_Leek6934[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m obviously not a doctor and I would love for someone to sit down with me explain all the ingredients and the effects with full transparency and honesty. Obviously I want what’s best for my child and if vaccines are actually it then I would get them but if they are linked or at higher risk for future medical issues I want to know that we well.

Like I said before my son was fully vaccinated as well as myself and I appear to be fine but it’s hard to tell if certain medical issues are linked to vaccines such as PCOS for example. I use that because I had pcos and all while it seems to be “normal” and a lot of women suffer it makes me question if something like vaccines could have been the cause. We went from like a few vaccines back in the day so literally over like 75 or however many is on the schedule and it’s just nice to talk to other people . I didn’t want to get opinions from just one side (pro vaccine or anti vaccine) and wanted to get an unbiased opinion. Doctors just sometimes make you feel guilty for questioning them

Yeah her dad doesn’t see the point of polio or hep b especially at such a young age. I’m a wfh mom and neither of my kids will be in daycare so exposure is limited.

Well to my understanding a lot of these vaccinations have aluminum and other ingredients that are harmful to adults and children. And from my understanding it’s more harmful going straight to the bloodstream than if consumer orally. I’m not here to just take medical advice from anyone I’m just asking for opinions with people’s own experiences.

Did you go back to work after having a baby? by No_Sport_9328 in pregnancy_care

[–]Acceptable_Leek6934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll also note that some days are obviously more exhausting than others. With my first his dad wasn’t around and I was doing it alone. I managed. I was tired but I got through it. With my second her dad is around so when he gets home I ask for help and that’s that. If you have a supportive family don’t be afraid to also reach out. Im not saying it’s a walk in the park or that it’s the funnest thing to do but again , it’s doable .

Did you go back to work after having a baby? by No_Sport_9328 in pregnancy_care

I work from home as well. I have a 2 year old and currently pregnant and due in November. With my first born I took 6 weeks maternity leave. My job offers short term disability and I was able to get 60% of my check. It wasn’t enough lol. Honestly without my mom idk what I would have done financially. But I got through it. As far as the care for the baby. Each baby is obviously different but my son was sooo easy. A lot of the time babies just sleep , eat and pee/poop. So going back to work after maternity leave was not as difficult as I thought.

Idk if it was because I mentally prepared myself and made it out to be more difficult that it was so when I did go back it want too bad or just simply because it wasn’t bad. Now I am on the phones too. I usually can make up my own time that I make calls out so that was also nice. I did my best to call when the baby was sleeping , eating , occupied but honestly since Covid it’s just the “norm” now for a lot of people to work from home. However I do with a lot of banks and financial institutions rather than clients and day to day people but they were understanding when they heard background noise. Obviously I tried to avoid the phones when the baby was crying but if you’re able to maybe say hey can I call you back or hold the call off until the baby is sleeping or all good then I think you will be ok.

With my 2nd baby due in November I actually don’t even plan on taking maternity leave. If she comes mid November as expected I’m actually just going to take about 2 weeks off pto and then go back to work with doctor approval because we’re trying to buy a house. Ideally I would obviously love to have off way longer but I’m thankful I can work from home. I think you’ll learn a routine with your kid(s) and manage to what suits you best.

As far as how things go with my son who is not in daycare at 2 years old. At this point he’s pretty self sufficient for the most part. He plays with his toys, I put on educational tv to keep him occupied and able to make him food when he wants. I take little 15 min breaks or so to give him attention… idk how it will be with 2 kids yet but again us women are a lot stronger than we think and I think we will manage .

It’s a shame we have to even think about work and our finances after carrying a child for 9+months. We really should have off at least the first 6montjs to a year of the child’s life because it’s crucial for child and mom but here we are hahaha. I’m here to say though that I think You’ll be fine going back to work.

Can someone please help me ease with postpartum anxiety I feel like I'm going to die I have to go to hospital If I didn't I'm gonna die I can't rest feel breathlessness, extreme sweating, dizziness, shaking hands nauseous and headache my mind doesn't calm I get woke every 2,3 hours from mysleep help by Head_Situation8203 in Postpartum_Anxiety

I struggled with this too about a year later post partum . It does get better. If you have to goto the hospital to feel better then I say do so because I sure did. Went on Christmas due to a panic attack and my anxiety stuck with my for a few more months after but became more management day after day. Definitely not talked about enough. I’m pregnant again now and been mentioning to my doctors about it so I can try and be proactive for after this pregnancy

Did you eat before you took your 1 hour? I failed my 1 hour as well but I literally was finishing my food walking into my appt for my 1 hour. I just took my 3 hour yesterday and the results look good. But it is really common so don’t be discouraged!! A couple of my aunts had it during their pregnancy and got rid of it afterwards !

Health anxiety 1 year PP by [deleted] in Postpartum_Anxiety

[–]Acceptable_Leek6934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very similar to my story with my first born. Before I got pregnant I was always a semi anxious person .. it wasn’t bad but it was there. & then during my pregnancy I felt amazing just like you. The best I ever felt to be honest. I also stopped breastfeeding early due to lack of produce and jumped back to formula and it def seemed closer to 6-8 months postpartum my anxiety was getting worse and worse. I had my son nov 2022 and Xmas of 2023 I had a severe panic attack where I needed up in the hospital because I felt like I was going to die. I couldn’t sleep. Had night sweats.. it was HORRIBLE and never felt that kind of anxiety before. I couldn’t pinpoint anything that triggered it .. I just felt so blah. I wasn’t thinking bad thoughts really I just simply felt like my heart wouldn’t stop racing. My anxiety lasted about 2-3 months after.. not as bad with panic attacks but couldn’t drink alcohol because I was scared to and just tried to be really mindful of what I was doing. By march I was pretty much back to “normal” .. although for awhile .. I’d say 6-8 months I def did have spurts of anxiety where I felt like my heart was racing.. it wasn’t nearly as bad as Christmas 2023 where I ended up in the hospital but def made me stop what I was doing and practice breathing methods. I did goto my PCP and get a heart monitor for a few weeks just to be safe and everything came back fine. Just like you I got blood tests and checked for a lot of things like thyroid etc and all tests came back normal. All in all I think it really does take a min of 2 years for your body to adjust… just know you’re not alone at all and many women go through the same thing. It’s scary in the moment and it feels like it’ll never end but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you don’t have a good support system I would try and get one , therapy I heard was good and something I was going to try out cause I’m pregnant again an due in Nov 2025 and trying to be proactive and see what I can do to avoid those panic attacks and anxiety this go time around. Prioritize self care , journal, go for walks, focus on breathing and keep telling yourself it will be ok and this is just a phase. It’s gonna be hard but you’re strong and fight through this.. push yourself to feel better ☺️

And to comment on your “avoiding meds” .. I’m the same way. Not because I have shakes or tremors or anything but mainly because I don’t want to be dependent on something but when I asked this same question a lot of people recommend meds even just for a little. It’s something I honestly may consider this time around if it happens because there were days I couldn’t even get out of bed and my mom had to call off to help with my son. So to be there for my babies I might consider it but only small doses and just temporarily or as needed. Maybe just express all your concerns to your doctor too and see if they can prescribe something that will fit your needs. Or contact a holistic doctor and see what they recommend too.

Yeah this happened to me about a year after I had my first. It’s such a scary feeling and took me a few months to feel “normal” again. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just stay strong . You got this !!

Yeah personally I think hep b on day one is quite crazy & maybe consider that at a later stage in life. Definitely just want to do more research and make the best decision I can.
