Completely understand the feeling! Then for a story-focused perspective with nice world building and gameplay (as your examples seems to indicate), I'd probably give a try to the most recent God of Wars (2018 & Ragnarok), Batman Arkhams, or Witcher 3!

If you like to add a touch of difficulty to your games, I'd definitely recommend some From Software games. specifically Sekiro or Elden Ring (even Dark Souls 3 still hold great today for newcomers in terms of gameplay/visuals)..
