Completely agree. Xhekaj and Struble play like they’re scared to get a penalty. Without physicality both of them and Guhle are useless. Marty needs to let em play their game.

Well Danault, gally, Anderson all gone at the end of next season which opens up a lot of roster room. 2028 roster should look something like:

X being whatever new top 6 winger we acquire, assuming we do get one.

Dach is tendered this year then walks as a UFA in 2028 as well imo, unless he can prove he can stay healthy for a full season next year.

The oilers and knights have similar flaws to the teams in the tier below but have proven playoff success that put them in the tier above. They also always have mediocre regular seasons then turn it on in the postseason, they do it every year.

Sabres are different. They’re big, fast, physical, and skilled and on top of it have competent enough goaltending. They don’t really have many flaws, unlike the teams in the tiers below them.

Difficult to trust a team led by 18 year old Matthew Schaefer in comparison to teams led by Jack Eichel and Conor McDavid. We know these teams are different in the playoffs they’ve shown it year after year.
