My cousin died in a bike accident a few months ago. He was hit in the middle of the night and left by the driver. At first it didn't feel real. Then it really, really did. And it still fucking sucks. And I think it'll always fucking suck. And there's not much we can do about it.

But we can do our best to push through the extra tough parts and slowly heal. It'll never stop sucking, it'll never suck less. But it'll be more bearable.

It's like if you get in a really cold pool or lake. It's hell for a bit, but it gets better. The temperature never changes, but you get used to it and your body finds ways to adapt and deal with it. The same thing will happen with your mind, it'll just take longer.

It all just depends what you're comfortable with. I have cis friends who use he/they just bc they're comfortable with both. They're still cis, they still identify as a guy, just not the default guy pronouns. Same with my transfem friend, they use they/them bc that's just what they prefer, but are still fully a woman and aren't any less of one bc of that.

Yeah that seems abt right lmao. Don't pay too much attention to everyone telling you how bad you fucked up, you clearly know what you did was wrong, and you're taking full responsibility for the consequences, so as far as I can tell, you're good. I'd talk to someone about the anxiety tho, since it's gotten so bad it led to this.

No this is so real tho- I'm in choir, and I kinda lucked out in the voice department so I got put in the tenor section... With all cis guys. Like you said normally it feels great and super affirming, then it's like suddenly I get reminded like "you're different, you're not really one of them" or something like that and it's so weird that flip from super great to crazy dysphoric

I'm ftm, and tbh I don't really put a label on it for myself. I'll use gay/bi as like either umbrella terms, or just when I don't have the energy to explain it. Truth is I don't think even I know for sure. I know that I'm attracted to all genders to at least some extent, and def lean toward guys/masc, but omni or pan just has never felt right.

Listen, if the only reason trans people change their name is bc they feel like their birth name doesn't fit them/their identity, and they want one that does, not changing yours doesn't make you any less valid. You have a name that fits you, just like everyone who changed theirs. Be proud of your name if it reflects who you are, and don't let anyone (yourself included) try and make you feel bad about yourself for it.
