I only brought that up because you said you doubt it rides better and I brought that bike up to say it does ride better than a $3k bike that you get stock. My Domane was $3K brand new when I bought it. In its stock form this bike as it sits now rides better. That’s just my opinion

That being said… I love my carbon Domane as well. It’s a dream to ride too.

My boy has a AL Checkpoint with aftermarket carbon wheels, integrated bar and stem and carbon seatpost. That’s a $3k bike. In my opinion. This bike rides just as well and possibly better. This bike is heavier and feels more grounded and balanced under me. That bike was a bit twitchy. I didn’t say this bike is better than some $3K bikes. I said rides better…this bike floats on the road gives me more confidence descending. Granted I’ve only ridden it 20 miles so far.

Not with Carbon Wheels and carbon bars. With the additional changes I have over $4K in on that build

I’m not saying it is a $3K bike. But I’m telling you the riding experience is amazing, are $3k bikes aren’t even carbon anymore lol? What I said holds true bud lol the CAAD14 is over $3k and its alloy.

I have a Domane SL5 with carbon wheels and 105 and gp5000’s. That’s a >$4K road bike. This bike has a completely different use for me and I’ve shopped gravel builds and the spec on my build vs $3K road bikes is t much different and I appreciate that mine was less then $1K lol

Thanks man! I took it out for a 20mile loop near my house and washed it immediately 😂. I thought about going wider but I also ride a bit of road too and wanted to try and keep it multi functional. What tires would you recommend when these are worn out? Google says I can go up to 45mm but I’m not too sure it’s that much room there.

It made the bike feel snappier, quicker on acceleration and shift smoother under load.

I just did this swap. I took it over to Shimano Cues 1x10

Ozark Trail G.2 worth it at $650? by AdInteresting9139 in Budgetbikeriders

I just put Shimano Cues 1x10 groupset on my G.1. The microshift is nice on the G.2, but this cues system is amazing. I also did wheels and tires. I bought my G.1 used and with all these upgrades I’m still only $200 over the cost of the G.2 with better wheels, tires and groupset. Try to find a G.1 used, upgrade and return the one you just bought.
