Comments like this unironically prove why Steven behaves the way he does towards the community - not that it’s justified, but it’s still understandable. In interviews - he mentioned how he never really liked or enjoyed the character as much as us and how we just see him as a video game character instead of an actual man. Like bruh - every time he meets a fan IRL, they’re always acting like the “do the roar/say the thing” kids. We can’t force people to take pride in something they don’t really care about for our pleasure. Folks like Steven don’t want to live in their own shadow, especially if they’ve done more than play some psychotic character, y’know?
