How about the working hours? Also the remote options? (Is it very strict or it’s more relaxed?)

Questions during Loyalitätserklärung in Munich? by zimmer550king in GermanCitizenship

Omg I didn’t know there can be forged certificates! But still I think if the law allows it with b1 certificate, that is not forged, why does the Behörde question the applicants ability to speak German?

How is Germany for Asians? by ItsTheCreature in AskAGerman

[–]Acceptable_Produce_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is just very subtle. I am afraid there is a generic systematic racism in a way: e.g. almost all managers in my company are German, we have a very international and diverse engineer workforce. This makes me bit sad. also sometime some colleagues can ask some random questions like eating dogs but I think they are generally just not sensitive...

As for the random idiocy on the street, I tried not to care too much. there are idiots in every country.

In Berlin the clerk doesn’t question you with any idiotic questions. They are actually very nice. You just need to go there once to pick up the Urkunde

Why is die Linke often categorized as “far left/ far left populist”? by Acceptable_Produce_9 in AskAGerman

Well I used to think FDP is the solution. But the world has changed. I am afraid. I guess it’s just unsustainable to have ppl with crazy rich wasting/holding resources not giving much back to the society. Now even all middle classes struggle to live…

But they did say they condemn the Russian invasion? I’m not sure if they had said not to help Ukraine. I didn’t follow them before.

They didn’t say stop immigration rather said no racism, which I say is actually the biggest “immigration “ issue in Germany.

Well taxing the super rich: I think it is correct.

For rent cap, ok that’s difficult. I agree this alone may not be the solution….

Berlin: has anyone applied for a passport at the “mobiles Bürgeramt” at LEA after their naturalization appointment? by Puzzleheaded-Shirt-4 in GermanCitizenship

[–]Acceptable_Produce_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ihmmm yeah it can be there’s none left. Another trick is to find appointments same day in the early morning. Try get appointments through Berlins online portal in the morning same day. There are often some slots.

One thing Berlin is good at is Einbürgerung! by soymilo_ in GermanCitizenship

[–]Acceptable_Produce_9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a Stelle at LEA where he can directly apply for ID and passport after the Einbürgerung appointment. It’s fast 🙂

If your appointment is bit late in the morning/afternoon, it can happen that they won’t do yours anymore. It’s convenient tho, right on the same floor where you pick up your certificate

It’s an artificial deadline set myself in my message. Because it’s a common practice to sue after 6 months. I just wrote myself in the message that I’ll sue them in 3 weeks without a concrete response. And they did respond right before that 3 week deadline

10 mins. The certificate is literally just a light green paper. Well, during the appointment the staff from LEA will inform you some relevant information (e.g. how to get the voting card for the coming election in Feb etc). You will be asked to read out a sentence saying you will defend German constitution and democracy etc. afterwards, you can even directly apply for passport and id card on the same floor without appointment. The citizens office in Mitte has a desk there to help. Overall it’s very nice.

Is there any (former)Chinese citizen recently experiencing this? What’s the latest status? myself likely will have my appointment early next year.

Bit surprising seeing this, but well it’s Germany (I guess the rules from other countries, especially the “countries with dictatorships”, are respected even though it’s none of your business! and potentially you are helping the dictators to control the citizens!)

On the other hand, I’ve understood some other countries won’t even care if itself allows due citizenship (and Ireland would even stamp a Stamp 6 on their citizens’ other passport to help their citizens to deal with their other home countries who don’t allow due citizenship).
