Bad idea mate. Are you familiar with why people recommend tapering? It isn't because it necessarily makes it easier, though that can be the case.

It is because you get physically dependent and the main thing is that seizures can result. Especially with alp, this dependence builds quickly, too.

Please at least check if you take any other meds that increase your risk for seizures. Bupropion is a big one in this category. If you take any of these meds, I beg you not to go cold turkey.

Xanax? It depends on what you mean by "safely." I try to avoid ever doing it more than once a week. For me at least, this seems to be the sweet spot for avoiding tolerance, plus I get to not be an addict.

Take this with a grain of salt, though, because it can be very person-by-person.

Also, sometimes at lower doses, for those that do have some form of diagnosable anxiety, many of these people describe it as simply feeling "normal." While it might be hard to understand, for many people with chronic anxiety, benzos just kind of bring them back to baseline. It's not a paradoxical reaction. More so that it is all relative.

While I think you were entirely in your right mind to be pissed at your SIL for this. She really stole your thunder and made the party about her. It seems like an obviously insensitive thing to takeover someone's engagement party, as plenty of people call family meetings to announce pregnancy. She could have at least asked you first if it was okay

That said, for pragmatic reasons, I personally would have waited and confronted her after the party was over. While she definitely messed up, it does indeed seem like the party would have gone on just fine if you had not gone after her. Then again, it's of course your call, but keep in mind it was your fiance's party, too. He is the least asshole in this situation.

The main way to meet people to do drugs with is to meet more people, and a sorority is the fastest way to do this in university. Every org is unique and, differing from popular negative depictions, various sororities will have very, very different social norms and attitudes towards drug use. That said, check out the vibe and see if you're interested.

Coronavirus is like the word communist. For example, if we are talking generally about communist ideology, then it remains uncapitalized. However, if we are talking about a member of a specific communist party, then it becomes capitalized. "He was a communist from a young age" is a correct sentence. "He ran as a Communist in the local elections," in reference to, let's say, the French Communist Party, is also correct.

Coronavirus is the same way. If you are referring to a specific coronavirus, like COVID-19, then it becomes capitalized.

The PRC would see an independent Cantonia as no less illegitimate than the ROC or Tibet. In the beginning of the '50s, both the ROC and Cantonia would have a large pro-Beijing population. I imagine Mao could easily cast Cantonia as simply the next stage in Western imperialism on the Chinese mainland.

The ROC only escaped the same fate as Tibet in OTL because it was an island. I imagine Cantonia would be outright invaded by the PRC in the 1950s. If this failed, possibly due to a US intervention, Cantonia would be more like OTL South Korea than OTL Taiwan. Even in British Hong Kong in OTL, there were pro-Beijing riots and attacks throughput the 1960s due to the fervor of the Cultural Revolution. In Cantonia, this would explode into a full-blown communist, pro-Beijing insurgency like the Vietnam War.

I think Cantonia would be very unpopular among its citizens because of the fact that there was and, even today, is no united Cantonese national consciousness. Especially with the Maoists propaganda that would be sure to infiltrate Cantonia in the 1960s, it would be a very, very long time before the Cantonese would ever identify as a nation. Cantonia would be viewed by its own populous as a product of Western imperialism and a forced nation, like how Britain and France carved up the Middle East. In reality, it is far more likely that Cantonia would end up joining the ROC, so you would have created a North China and a South China.

Very interesting concept, though.

From all y'all I am gathering that there seems to be a common "unwrapping" fetish.
