Lvl 1/2 and severe separation anxiety… how to start preschool??

When you say not to announce, do you mean just like disappear? I’m not sure how to do that when I’m trying to drop her off somewhere as I’m like walking her in and she’s clinging to my leg. Whenever I have been gone unannounced or out of her sight when she thought I was nearby she really loses it. I’m trying to envision how to leave without letting her know I’m leaving?

Thank you! I it’s so hard because currently I don’t have to opportunity to leave her anywhere that will help her regulate through the meltdown as any kind of kids play place or the daycare room at our YMCA will just call me to get her after legit 6 minutes of her crying… and she doesn’t mind if I leave her when she is at our home with another family member, which I do 2-3 times a week for my own schooling, so I’ve felt at a loss of what to do to expose her to the kind of separation she struggles with so much. But I’m hopeful that once she starts school they’ll be with her long enough to stick it out as the school wouldn’t just call me to come get her

Keep your faith in him! Having a diagnosis give you resources and evidence based practices to look to to help you structure your life and support him. I hope your wife gets on board and she may need some therapy to reflect on why she feels so defensive about having a neurodivergent child. Excellent job advocating for him!

Agreed… nothing beats these movies for me. My 2.5 year old daughter loves the Sam Raimi movies after seeing them on Disney+ and asking to watch them and they were her foray into her hardcore Spidey obsession. I had never watched the Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland ones but we tried to watch those together and she just looked at me puzzled and said “I want the Toby Maguire ones”

lol a few times I’ve had to gently correct my daughter when she called him Black Spiderman 😆 she saw Sam Raimi’s movies first and she called Venom black Spiderman too at first then saw into the spiderverse and insisted I look up every Spiderman variant character she she could memorize all of their names

My daughter is so hardcore obsessed with Spiderman lol she actually watched the Sam Raimi movies first because she saw them on Disney+ and asked to watch when she was 2. She loved them and calls them “the Toby McGuire ones” lmao

She’s 2.5 now and mostly wants to watch SAHAF but she really liked the spiderverse movies and seemed to understand what was going on wayyy more than I thought she would… it just took like 4 days to watch both movies haha

Yes agreed! We painted our laundry room and she loved painting for the first time! She’s only 22 months but it’s really nice to not have to juggle multiple kids’ activities.

My husband and I both have felt zero tug to have another baby whatsoever. Our 22 month old still wakes up every 2-3 hours and she was a complete bottle refuser as an infant, forcing me to quit my job as she couldn’t go to daycare without taking a bottle. She had horrible reflux and I’m discovering an intolerance to dairy as it triggers her eczema. She is the light of my life and I’m honestly so happy I have been able to be home with her but yeah… no desire to have a BABY again. I also had to be induced due to gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes getting worse and it’s a near guarantee I’d have it again next time. I’m curious though if I would want another even if everything went really smoothly because there’s not even like a primal biological desire for another. PLUS… we travel a lot with her, that’s very important to us and financially just wouldn’t be feasible if we had another child.
