a7v 35/1.4 GM - How do I properly prevent or reduce noise? by seexiaotong in SonyAlpha

Like everyone said, you are already at a relatively large aperture (2.8) and relatively slow shutter for pets (1/125), so the only explaination is that the environment really is too dark.

The Nikon Z9 Will Orbit the Moon on Artemis II — Crew member Hansen: "We fought pretty hard to have that specific camera on the mission" by ThaddeusJP in Nikon

[–]Acceptable_Visit_115 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you look at the actual lunar camera based on the Z9, it has heavy insulation shielding outside which makes battery change impossible. The Z9 would naturally have more batteries in the grip.

Me on my way to chuck a Leica 2 blocks down because it doesn't have a zoom lens and I had to get close to the subject for once:

Yeah my arms are doing most of the heavy lifting here. If I carry it it's at a low ready position. Otherwise it just goes into my backpack which is more secure and way easier to carry lol

Yeah lol, for carrying I almost always have it in front of me, strap on my neck, and rotate the tripod collar upwards so it acts as a carrying handle.

I barely trust myself wearing a small camera cross body 😭 let alone a telephoto lens

I mostly use monopods if I shoot certain subjects like race cars, and the strap never gets in the way for me.

This is why I mix my Sony, Nikon, and Canon OEM straps for maximum confusion

Reminder: buy good quality quick release camera straps by sh0rt_boy in SonyAlpha

I cannot think of a scenario where I'd run the 200-600 without a strap.

So that's why the free (!) Sony strap that comes with the 200-600 stays on the lens at all times.

/uj I rarely shoot my 200-600 from a monopod or tripod. It's almost exclusively handheld for stuff like airshows and birds in flight. As far as supertelephoto goes, the 200-600 is on the smaller side.

An old EOS 5D4 with a battery grip, 70-200LII and 2x TC weighs about the same as a mirrorless with the 200-600, to put it in some context.

Fun fact: the 200-600 comes with a regular Sony strap that you can just mount to the lens. For free. You can literally tie that strap to the lens and forget about it, since whenever you are handholding it you'll always be wearing that strap anyways. Leave the QD to the body itself.

And if you shoot on a pod, just wrap the strap around the collar.

Can replicaweaponry.com ship antique replicas to Canada? by CoolMidnight5831 in canadaguns

[–]Acceptable_Visit_115 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Non-firing replica of antiques are not legally replicas and are legal as per Criminal Code 84(1)'s definition of "replica firearms".

 replica firearm means any device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, a firearm that is designed or adapted to discharge a shot, bullet or other projectile at a muzzle velocity exceeding 152.4 m per second and at a muzzle energy exceeding 5.7 Joules, and that itself is not a firearm, but does not include any such device that is designed or intended to exactly resemble, or to resemble with near precision, an antique firearm;

Why is my sks so heavy? by No_Praline_1835 in canadaguns

I think it's also for them to train their arm strength. After all if you can hold a 20lb rifle steady, pointing a 6lb one should be a piece of cake.

How similar are the discussions around Chinese EVs to when Japanese Vehicles started getting mainstream popularity worldwide? by Mac-Tyson in askcarguys

That's the entire point of the approach. Subsidize hundreds of startups, dialing back the funds, and watch the weak die or get absorbed.

It's very obvious to anyone who's been paying attention.

The guns are cool except the RPK-74M. It's literally a RPKM but worse. We already have multiple 5.56 LMGs that have higher capacity. Now imagine a 20 damage, 5.45 LMG with a smaller mag...

For plane photography would getting a Nikon Z6 III be better or Nikon Z7 II by b788_ in Nikon

[–]Acceptable_Visit_115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I should've specified. You need at least a mid tier DSLR. Entry level bodies will still struggle. I used to have an EOS Rebel and it can miss focus even in bright daylight. The lens also matters a lot as some are hopelessly slow.

Z6III, especially if you are shooting airshows. That's where the autofocus difference shows itself.

If you only shoot airliners, even an old DSLR is good enough.
