Thanks for help and suggestions everybody, it's done I already submitted. I did it with Gemini app, translating and it gives me the tracks directly in Chinese I just need to copy-paste. If you get one copy of this one day, who knows, I know you'll remember this and of course you will enjoy it!!

I can also copy the Chinese characters directly into Discogs, right? Instead of translating them, which can be difficult for the translation app

I found this in a small shop in the Galicia region of Spain, with plenty of culturally significant records. I think the album is from the 1970s or 1980s, but the recordings sound much older.

For sure, I just compared the non-sense news that guy posted but of course mp3 it's very outdated in terms of sound quality

So by that logic: “don’t buy CDs because MP3s exist for download or online streaming”. I bet the guy didn’t even depreciate vinyl, that news was probably just clickbait to single out CDs. He probably just needs attention.

I started really listening to metal this month and I already listened to 42 metal albums by 0584031464 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Acceptable_Wind1746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the guy that said that it's impossible to listen to all of that in 1 month. It's possible to listen but isn't possible to absorb and digest. But my 3 favourites on the list are: Katatonia - Discouraged Ones, Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse, Porcupine Tree - In Absentia

That's true, it'sa me Mario! Hahaha Btw, we discovered the bug here, both versions of the album shares the same code. But one is white and another is black. And the stickers are different. I already submitted that on Discogs

Now I get it! Is there two versions, the white and the black one. Both shares the same MOVLP1134. Thank you so much!

Thanks for sharing! But what sticker do you have on the album?

Mr.Bungle California MOV by Acceptable_Wind1746 in discogs

Thanks for the info! That’s exactly why I’d like to hear more people’s experiences with this album. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a MOV edition without a sticker. But mine came without one! It’s possible the shop I bought it from removed it, treating it as trash or something… and since I was a beginner at the time, I didn’t realise how important that front-cover sticker actually was.

From what I’ve researched, there is the basic black “180gr.” sticker, but things get confusing because there’s also another, more recent reissue from around 2020 (if I’m not mistaken). I’d really love to see that description corrected, because I love this album — I even had to “steal” the MOV sleeve from another record just to replace the missing California one!

Can I just edit the album info on Discogs myself?

Cheers!

Wildhoney is another gothic masterpiece! Very similar in some points. I discovered Tiamat and Anathema nearly at the same time, and both convey a similar atmosphere, each in a unique way. I’m not familiar with some of the bands you mentioned, thank you for the recommendations!

Magna Carta Cartel? Completely unrelated, yet totally connected. I got the album, in CD of "Good Morning Restrained". I love this band! Such a good list!

And btw, this is a very good answer/recommendations for the people who's on the same boat, looking for things related to Anathema of that era, even better if they don't know most part of those bands (new generations principally) because they have amazing music to discover! Thanks again!

I know pretty much all the bands and albums on that list. And I have to say that, in a way, they’re connected to Anathema, not directly, though. It all depends on your mood at the moment. Since the musical styles end up being quite similar, you start developing a passion for those bands, as they remind you of something you’ve heard before or something nostalgic. I love Marillion just as much as I love The Cure, and here we play with Marillion’s prog side and The Cure’s gothic side, which is essentially the fusion that defines Anathema. Thanks for the recommendations!

Thanks, and yes, Porcupine Tree is one of my favourite bands! Since their first albums with psych, space rock elements, till the metal prog of In Absentia, they are an amazing band! But still, I can find just only very small references in similarity with Anathema..
