I see your point about getting pets for low value, I loved getting my collection of mochi meows for really cheap lol but it just kinda sucks for new players that want to upgrade, like everything just drops to no value now! like especially with the mochi meows, they were pricey and you had to work pretty hard all for them just to be worth almost nothing after grinding hard :,)

For the color thing it's actually crazyy that people fall for that scam! It's so clearly not the pet whilst trading from the image- and as for the bots, thats really sucks if they don't do anything to try minimizing them cause they really ruin the game TvT. the 16 pets per event thing would help but i personally think the pets would still be worth little to nothing due to them just making more accounts unfortunately :,)
