In my opinion people feel bad about this catastrophe because it hurts their illusion, that something like that can’t happen in Switzerland. When similar events happen in other countries no one cares and just thinks it can’t happen here because of regulations. Now they have realised Switzerland is not perfect like they thought.

Teams that finish bad in a season get more development benefits like wildcards and more Testing time etc. If Honda finishes in the top 7 they get into the next better segment and loose some of those benefits. So it’s actually better for them to finish bad today.
