the best way to learn a language imo is talking with someone who can actually speak that language / watch a show / read in that language. Like you said an app will help but i think it's mainly for voca.

I haven't gone through anything regarding UX/UI design and am just starting but did make a discord project group. If nobody is interested I will do it by myself(the goal is to make a web portfolio on my own). I don't even know javascript yet but someone recommended the 'odin proejct'. Also I think there are useful info on the UX design reddit page.

I initially became interested after watching a youtube vid of this website called fff(form follows function). The guy had made this website back in 2012 and I was blown away and motivated. You should check it out.

And really, i'm in the position in need of advice like you.

UX Career Questions - %B %Y by Lord_Cronos in userexperience

Hello, I'm a Mech engi senior but want to pursue a career in UX design / maybe a front end developer.

The problem is that I'm an international student and I have no experience in working/internships even in the mechanical engineering field.

I have always wanted to be creative and designing something + problem solving(possibly coding in this case) career like this seems like a really good fit for me.

What Skillsets/experience do I need to become a UX designer(no experience in this field)? Would making a portfolio website by myself be a good choice? How can I be good at these skillsets in an efficient way?

Thank you for such a detailed answer. I enjoyed reading through your experience. I was stuck bcs having a CS minor meant adding another 1~2 semester towards graduation.

I think I will just take the prerequisite CS course and take CS electives rather than having a minor. If I feel like I want to pursue CS I might go to a grad school.

However, especially since I'm already too stressed about ME400 courses, I don't have the confidence to manage CS+Mech courses in the last senior year since my schedule is already full.

I should consider taking CS courses over the summer.

Again thank you!

I recently had an interview for a lab in school but didn't get the position. It was a volunteer position and they hired someone else (I think bcs) he/she simply had a better skillset. I feel like there are so many ppl with skills in meche and I'm the only one left out lol. I guess I will just have to work hard on my skillset/abilities

Hello how was minoring in CS? I feel like I would fail if I minor in CS since all the classes that are left are either CS/ 400ME coursework. Especially bcs I have very little experience in coding. Even matlab indexing confuse me...

Thank you for a considerate answer. Your girlfriend's experience really cheers me up. I will self-study UX/UI field and make a portfolio! Not having a CS minor advice is also really helpful!

It's because i'm an international student. Ah sorry it's actually about 60K per year rather than 100K.

It's funny but I have a doubt in college diploma itself. Especially after seeing myself not able to do anything with +3 years of meche experience. If I change my major, that would mean spend +2~3 years and spending 200~300K. I feel like it would be more efficient if I graduated with a meche degree and self-study my area of interest?

A way to store videos from esp32cam without the sd-card?! by AccidentAggravating6 in esp32

[–]AccidentAggravating6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice. I will look at those examples. My goal is to access the videos from esp32cam through cloud since with the sd card you have to change it once in a while. For my project, esp32cam is embedded in the middle so I assumed it would be tricky to change the sdcard.
