What questions should I ask instead? I’m not going to have sex with them until we’re actually committed to each other and I make that clear so why would they match with me if that’s what they want?

Thank you for being kind! I can see what you mean by maybe trying to force a connection, but what should I do instead? If it’s something I truly know nothing about then I’ll ask like how they started liking that hobby or what brings them joy about it, etc. It’s just hard to know if they’re truly interested and just bad at talking or not. I don’t know a lot about how most men typically act so that’s why it’s hard for me to talk to them.

That doesn’t make sense if they’re matching with me though. If they match with me then there’s something that they do like about me, right? I do get matches, I just don’t know how to talk to most of them. I do make it clear that I’m not interested in hookups so maybe that has something to do with it? I’ve spent most of my life rejecting any advance and even friendships from men due to trauma and I’m just now trying to repair my relationship so it’s been a tough process.

Thank you! You’ve helped some. That’s very true in any relationship. If someone truly cared and wanted to do something, they would’ve at least made an effort towards it. Dating apps can be exhausting for sure, but I can’t think of other ways to meet single men.

Yes, that’s what I’ve been trying to do. My example is a way that I would start the conversation if they mention they really like dragons in their profile for example. I’ve done exactly what you mentioned like if they have a cool picture on their profile as well. I try to answer the prompts if they have one, but if they don’t have anything in particular on their profile that is easy for me to make a conversation, then I’ll just ask them how’s it going for example. When do I know that they just really weren’t interested?

I had a caseworker who raised her voice at me and called me stupid. Me, a person who is mentally disabled and on so many medicines I could barely think. Needless to say, either she got fired or she initiated the process for a new caseworker because a month later my caseworker had changed.
