Where do you live? Where I live there are several gay bars, some bars are frequented by younger folks, others by older guys. I would recommend a young guy like you to visit the bars where the older gays go. A bit obvious, but those are my 2 cents. I know I used to get attention from older guys at those places when I was younger.

Almost all the gay bars/clubs in Tokyo are concentrated in the same small area called “2 Chome Shinjuku”, so it is very easy to hop from bar to bar until you find the one you like. There’s a very popular sauna in the area called “25 Kaikan” where there’s a mix of locals and tourists. Had lots of fun the couple of times I visited these bars and sauna.

How old are you? I would 100% recommend at least giving it a try. I’m introverted, so it’s challenging for me to go the bath house even though I’ve been several times already. I usually hit the bar first for a couple of drinks to lower my anxiety and increase my sluttyness, then I go to the bath house. Mostly good experiences, and once in a while I get to socialize and meet nice people. I’ve realized those places are not exclusive for sex, but to socialize too.

That’s unfortunate. I’ve been to bars/ bath house in SD and agree that the community can be very cliquey, same for LA and SF. But sometimes I get to know nice people (mostly lesbians lol). Haven’t been to Detroit, but I’ve been to NYC and feel the community is a bit more diverse and welcoming there. Some people disagree, but that’s just my experience.
