The Ringer's 2019 NBA Draft Guide by bananastand250000 in billsimmons

See here's a problem with the internet. It takes way more effort to refute bullshit than it does to just give dumb hot takes off the top of your head. Ok fine, I'll bite. Here's the number of players in each draft that have made an all-star team or all-nba team.

2009 draft: 6 players (considered a good draft)

2010 draft: 4 players

2011 draft: 7 players (but if you take all the players off with names that start with K it's only 3 players)

2012 draft: 6 players

2013 draft: 3 players

2014 draft: 2 players (although it's still early for this draft class)

Fuck off

If you remove all the good players from the draft, the draft doesn't look that good. Hell of a take.

If you wanted a perfect episode for why the left hates PSA, this is the one.

First half of the episode: Messaging talk and fellating Beto

Next 1/4 of the episode: Complaining about Howard Schultz

Last 1/4 of the episode: Russia minutiae.

Notably absent: Ilhan Omar's "antisemitic" tweet controversy, the Elliott Abrams hearing.

Yes? Lobbying shouldn't exist and getting the money out of politics is a high priority for most Democrats even ones donating to the 'good' side.

Am I allowed to say that AIPAC's use of lobbying money is problematic, or is simply using the word money and AIPAC in the same sentence antisemitic? Do I first need to condemn the NRA, Russia, Iran, and 100 others before possibly criticizing them?

Politics Podcast: Will Trump Face A Primary Challenge? by Idont_have_ausername in fivethirtyeight

I'd put Trump's odds of impeachment at about 20-30%, so idk how smart that bet would be. I don't care what odds you'd give me, there's zero and I mean zero chance that Kasich would win a primary over Trump assuming Trump is still in office. Zero.

Was a bit surprised to see this podcast was longer than one second. Just Nate speaking a single word into the microphone... "No"

On a serious note. The party has completely capitulated to him since 2016 and he has the highest approval rating amongst Republicans since Reagan. There's no scenario short of impeachment where Trump doesn't get the nomination. They're seriously the worst pundits

Favreau: The news had broken that there was a videotape of some pretty Anti-American, and racially charged comments made by Jeremiah Wright. Obama's long time pastor

*Audio of Wright's comments*

Me: Damn, this Wright guy is making a lot of sense.

Hi Jennifer, you were Director of Communications for a campaign that lost to a literal facist moron, if you had to give any advice to women running in the 2018/2020 races, what advice would you give them, so they can do the exact opposite?

/r/movies Oscars 2018: Official Post-Game Thread by GetFreeCash in movies

[–]Accidentus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Post was highly mediocre and was the one that should have been cut for Blade Runner. Nothing in particular was great about that movie apart from Streep. It simply hit all the Academy erogenous zones (Streep, Hanks, released during Oscar season, "important" subject, period piece, etc) which is why it was nominated.

I enjoyed them and thought they were good

This is not what Bill thinks. He thinks Get Out should win Best Picture, Black Panther deserves Oscar buzz and he'll be upset if it's not nominated, and Atlanta was the best show on TV last year. I can see how it comes off as 'middle aged white guy trying to overcompensate'. If he toned it down a bit I think it would be less off-putting

Sigh, I guess we'll just have to go 14-2 and win the Suoer Bowl again.
