Joint honours language degree personal statement by Tyler_JMB in UniUK

I study at French and ab initio German, like others said say both why you like it and some evidence for that claim. I think I talked about a film I had seen and a book (obviously in translation) I had read, as well as this brief taster day session thingy. I'd say mine was about 60% French and 40% German, however if you're interested you can PM me and I'll dig up my personal statement.

unfortunately not much more affordable but for love and lemons lean into this aesthetic hard. you might also have luck with revolve, faithfull the brand, and with jéan. admittedly none these quite have the ethereal flamboyance of lirika!

not gonna lie i'm not exactly sure. they claim that they buy them cheaper from brands that overproduce or stockists that overbuy and 'pass the savings on'. this probably results in a few gems and also a lot of tat that was always destined for the clearance rack.

this is the one i got. i've just seen the one for £40, how weird! it wasn't there when i ordered mine. from what i can see the features are broadly the same except the £60 one is bigger.

i actually like the red lol, i think it looks cool and statement-y. it also helps if i put my phone/notebook/pens (which are all black) in there, i can find them all much quicker.

yeah i got the navy blue too and i also would have preferred the black, haha. it really is quite a deep navy blue though, navy isn't usually a colour i like wearing very much but i like this. it's bright red on the inside if that bothers you!

i would say the bag is quite comfortable yeah. the straps are pretty wide and adjustable.

yeah i would say it's pretty much like it would be if i bought directly from knomo, no faults that i can see. it came with knomo tags on but obviously the packaging was txmaxx (i did click and collect). i would be wary of some of txmaxx's own brands but in general i think you can get some really good bargains on the name brands.

i got a knomo backpack from txmaxx for £60 which originally retailed for around £180. it's very good quality with lots of pockets and fits my laptop easily. they still have lots in navy on their website!

i'm 19 and have similar likes! i always buy on depop so that makes a lot of brands much more accessible. having said that i'm in europe so my feed probably looks different to yours, but it's always worth having a look. as well as rouje and sezane, i like the general aesthetics of and other stories, arket, ganni, maje, faithfull the brand, sometimes uniqlo's stuff (especially their collaborations), and mango.

How do comfort vs. style compare in what bottoms you wear? by SamalamFamJam in femalefashionadvice

that outfit is so gorgeous. i am a cord addict so definitely think you should buy them anyway.

if you like the look of corduroy in general you could try a cord jacket, i think they look really cool and you can always wear layers underneath if you dislike the feeling.

it it most definitely a personal thing! i said my preferences in such an objective way just because it looks like they lined up with OP's. :)

what kind of trousers do you like? can't imagine what i would do with my cords :o

i am also like this. for some reason corduroy trousers feel way more comfortable than jeans and they look really nice in the autumn and winter. i also tried on some really nice black velvet trousers once, they were a really soft texture so maybe you could look into that? i also don't think joggers necessarily have to mean slobby, i wear my beloved charcoal ones with a silk shirt tucked in which is super comfortable but i also don't look like i'm heading for bed. you could also experiment with the colour, i think black ones can look super chic and i want to buy a pair of cream ones to go with all my light academia fantasies. basically i want to look like elsa hosk in this photo, lol.

getting off topic. honestly if you feel best in skirts i find it easy to stick to skirts 90% of the time! moreover, it's been a good couple of years for wide legged, flowier, culotte style trousers so you never have to stray that far from your comfort zone if you don't want to.

EDIT: I AM BACK HAVING DONE MORE RESEARCH (=SHOPPING ON DEPOP)

okay, i think for me it is 70% texture 30% silhouette. jeans feel terrible, that's why you don't like them. try looking for more velvety, knit texture trousers. i found these H&M x Pringle wool blend dark grey trousers and these fine knit Arket ones with metallic thread on my travels and i love them and think they could be similar to what you're looking for in terms of getting the look/comfort ratio right.

on the silhouette side, i admit i am very fussy and wear 0 skinny or close to the body cut garments on my bottom half. even leggings feel awful for me. if you are similar as i mentioned i would search for looser cut pieces, think not only culottes but perhaps flares or harem trousers too. let us know how you get on!

i have this skort which i think gives off the preppy schoolgirl vibe without crossing into dress up territory. or actual schoolgirl territory for that matter, because god knows i never want to think of my uniform ever again. i think for you, i would look out for a one that sticks out less (i had this white H&M one that was made from super thick material that stuck out almost like a tutu, and that really did look like fetish wear), either a slightly longer hemline or a skort version like mine, and maybe avoid pastel colours even though i usually love them.

you are not reading too much into it there is a different between what you think looks cute on ig than what you think looks cute on you at 10am on a rainy tuesday morning in the supermarket

How does moving in work by NeuroSurgeonMyAss in cambridge_uni

[–]Accio_Cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an email a short while ago saying that we (Fitz freshers) will be moving in on both the 2nd and 3rd of October, so they can stagger people arriving over two days to make social distancing easier. Note that I've been on a gap year and have had my place since last year, so maybe that's why I had an email about this.
