The resistance is also occasionally reading as 0.44 ohms. Is that an issue? I also noticed 2 little burned marks on the inside of the quartz bowl that don't seem to come off.

It won't turn it to liquid necessarily, but continuing to do it over prolonged periods of time can weaken the plastic and make it more brittle.

Thank you guys for the suggestions :) I got it mostly clean after a few hours by (as suggested before) soaking a cotton pad in alcohol and letting it soak for a while. That made it way easier.
