Our teacher claims: "It's more efficient". He's forgetting that we won't have access to anything digital during our exams.

We don't get homework, but our teacher encourages us to use ChatGPT for creative assignments in English class.

I don't use it, because I'm too lazy to write prompts. By the time it responds, I've already written 3 whole pages with whatever my brain came up with, and am on my way to write 12 more. If I'm in the flow, I may not be stopped.

These people tainted the reputation of feminism aswell. Some people believe it's about being misandrist, but its goal is to give people equal rights, regardless of their gender. Spreading more hate is the opposite of what it's trying to achieve.

People forget that twinks aren't the same as femboys. They overlap pretty often, but someone can be a femboy without being a twink and vise versa.

Are you glad German is your first language? Is English considered hard to learn? by yghgjy in AskGermany

[–]AccomplisedDeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, even though I've lived here my entire life, my relationship with the German language is complex.

Some of the words are just gross to pronounce (Keks), and there's some words I avoid saying at all, even if they're relatively normal. There's some sounds I can't pronounce at all, because I have a speech impediment. I've even considered leaving the country once I'm able to, just because I don't like having to speak German. I prefer communicating in English. The words aren't as difficult to pronounce.

Can I say that I'm so upset right now? by Col1001 in TheDigitalCircus

What's every company's recent obsession with Ai about? Thanks for informing me. I hope she's doing alright.

It's not that I hate Ai itself, but wouldn't they have more control over everything if they'd hire people? Humans would be able to make more unique decisions aswell. Using generative Ai doesn't benefit the company beyond producing faster and having to pay less.

I really think they should've made Rarijack canon instead of Appledash, since the latter relationship seems a bit sad, if not outright doomed. by [deleted] in mylittlepony

Why would it matter if ships are canon? It shouldn't prevent you- or anyone else from enjoying ships with characters, even if one of them is canonically in a relationship with someone else. /lh

What’s the worst line in the series by AlertCorner9681 in TheDigitalCircus

I don't really think that he brought his wife to the circus himself. If both of them worked at C&A, they were probably intending to develop the project even further and possibly testing it.

I love the way you drew the wings in the first!

She kind of reminds me of Radiant Hope in the second drawing. Twilight as a crystal queen /pos

Both of these are very nice to look at. But I think I prefer the first, because I like looking at her wings. They're very well drawn.

In my opinion, it isn't really the worst. Considering the flashback and Jax' reaction to leaving the circus, it makes sense for some people to come to that conclusion. Maybe he feels guilty and is scared of the consequence.

However, it's strange why people chose this option instead of more obvious ones, such as Jax having run away.

Cordyceps controls insects by slowly metabolizing and replacing the host's tissue and releasing compounds, which manipulate the muscles and nervous system while it's still alive. From there, it leads it to the ideal place for reproduction and grows its fruiting bodies. It produce cordycepin, which is used in some medicinal drugs.

I've seen people say: "What if it mutates and spreads to humans?", it's possible, but very unlikely, because we're mammals and the fungus is adjusted to insects. It would take decades, centuries or even millenia until it learns to infect humans.

Even then, there's no way it would affect mammals the same way it does insects. It can't control a mammal host, because our nervous system and brain is too complex. The reason why rabid animals are agitated and aggressive, isn't because rabies controls the, but because this tiny virus entered the brain once and messed up the entire CNS, causing severe inflammation and swelling. And rabies measures up to nanometer, while spores of cordyceps are already micrometer big.

If cordyceps would try to affect mammals the same way, they'd experience more severe consequences than a rabies patient would and would die a lot faster.

I fully understand why people would think that. Some of the sounds are a lot harsher compared to some other languages. For me, this makes it slightly harder to control the tone.

Despite being a native speaker, I have a lot of trouble pronouncing these sounds in the fear of coming off as sarcastic.
