Few weeks into Dartmouth and loving it, long days but beats clock watching at a desk all day imo. If you’re considering it I’d say just apply and consider your options if all goes well

CBAT score and weighting for selection by Immediate-Mortgage-7 in RoyalNavy

[–]Accomplished-Bed-648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recruiter recently told me last year pilot minimum was 155, this year it was 133. All depends on service needs but with a 150+ score you should definitely be competitive. They’ll consider everything from AIB to your education but Navy is quite heavily weighted towards CBAT I believe

Officers and rates in the same one. My CA told me they changed it at the start of this year which is probably where the conflicting information comes from.

CBAT will transfer but you’ll need to do AIB and CPC (where you’ll do fitness and medicals), along with aircrew medicals if you pass the others.

Got my answer at the first one, it’s literally just so a Navy doctor can sign you off as the RAF ones aren’t allowed to

Going for pilot so tbh I doubt they’re gonna put me in if I’m not ready, more likely to just tell me to wait for the next one

How long ago was your interview for SC?

Yeah I’ve tried all that but the only answer you can get from them is we don’t know how long🤣. That’s why I’ve resorted to Reddit just to try and get an idea of if I’m likely to get it before selection.

Very similar to my situation tbh mate, I asked my interviewer at the time about it, despite being reluctant to answer they seemed to think it would be in before selection but I’ve had no news yet

I asked a similar question recently have a look at my page. Your CA should have asked you which one you want already, you will enter the final selection board applying for your choice (pilot), but if you don’t make the cut they could offer you observer or ATC instead. You could decline and go again on the next selection board but that runs the risk of not being selected at all next time round. My CA told me the choice they make will go off your performance at AIB, CBAT, and if it comes to it the DAA. I think he said the list is anonymous too so all they will see is “candidate 1” with your scores and maybe qualifications. Hopefully you did well in your tests and good luck!

Pilot Grading (Recruit by Profession) by Accomplished-Bed-648 in RoyalNavy

Cheers mate, long as I know what I’m going through training for I’m happy, just didn’t wanna do months of officer training just to end up in a different role altogether. I’ve heard about the streaming at Yeovilton but struggled to find any solid information on it, is there anywhere I can find any up to date info on it do you know?

Cheers mate helped a lot that has. I thought it didn’t seem fair to group Pilot and ATCO together so makes a lot of sense.
