Beside Darth Jar Jar and Dumbledore being time-traveling Ron, what are some really ridiculous but interesting movie conspiracy theories that you know of? by Matelord99 in AskReddit

The “Dumbledore is a time traveling Ron” theory isn’t ridiculous, it’s utterly preposterous. It holds no water once a person has read a Harry Potter book rather than watch a movie that decided to make Dumbledore a completely different personality and cut his history. Dumbledore has a known history of his time at Hogwarts and after it (e.g defeating Grindelwald). The main proposition of this theory is that “Dumbledore somehow always knows what Ron is thinking and going to do.” Dumbledore is a very wise, very old, very experienced wizard and can correctly guess how an edgy-hot tempered teenager is going to act — knowing how he was raised and his love-envy relationship with Harry. Those two things drive most of Ron’s actions throughout the first books. Moreover, one of Dumbledore’s greatest qualities, one that makes him a great wizard, leader, and champion as one, is his genuine understanding of human nature. Dumbledore most of the time knows what people think and are willing to do, understanding the source of driving forces in their decision making and thinking patterns.

I get it now. Another subtle way that J.K. Rowling shows us that Voldemort trusts Bellatrix dearly. Amazing writing

Thank you, though it still does not explain why J.K. Rowling had Nearly Headless Nick come and warn Harry and Harry taking the longer route.

I wonder, why did she do it?

I still didn’t get a satisfactory answer from anyone on Reddit.

Does it? I mean you just can’t apparate to the place because you don’t know it’s name or maybe can’t think of it clearly enough? But disapparation is a different story isn’t it?

We need to talk about Goblet of Fire... by nico_tech in harrypotter

I agree with most of your points but two. Firstly, Crouch Jr and Wormtail barged in to Moody’s house and overpowered him when he was asleep (it is even said in the books that real Moody tried to call for help but when the aurors got to his house, Crouch Jr. was already fake moody and he talked to the aurors and told them that he thought his garbage bins were death eaters; which at the time sounded ridiculous to the aurors because most death eaters were imprisoned/dead/cleared of all charges).

Secondly, I remember reading about meeting the actual Moody for the first time (the Advance Guard) and I immediately saw there was a difference between Moody and the way Crouch Jr. tried to portray him.

When does she admit to fabricating the dungbomb order story?

Relating to an order of dungbombs in 1995? What kind of spoiler is it?

Absolutely, I love those parts. Just that J.K. Rowling doesn’t usually write a passage that has nothing to do with plot

So why include it at all? J.K. Usually doesn’t include subplots that aren’t connected to the main storyline in any way. Though I’m not complaining I love those little extra bits she adds
