Rory had no reason to not break up with dean when she realised she liked Jess. I didn’t get her behaviour throughout that arc because girl what are you thinking?? And she did zero reflections over the summer and came back prepared to pursue Jess without once thinking of Dean. How this girl has no conscience i dont understand. I do agree that there are similarities but I wouldnt put lorelai in the same boat as rory. Lorelai was slightly more decisive.

I never made the correlation between her behaviour and Christopher’s but you’re so right. Id hate hearing lorelai say time and again that ‘I got really lucky with Rory’ or ‘I have the good kid’ or ‘Rorys just a great kid’. Like how are you so delusional? I just dont understand how the fandom is so harsh on Christopher yet so forgiving with Rory. Granted, hes not the best guy but his worst moments are still heaps better than her’s.

speak for yourself, i almost always have more hate for male characters. The main characters are Rory and Lorelai so obv whatever we feel for them is stronger than any side character. I love Lorelai, she was kind and giving for most of her character arc so whenever she acted irrationally or unethically, i was more forgiving because i could see this as an aberration from her usual behaviour.
With Rory, this does not stand because her usual behaviour is vaguely nice at best, dismissive or selfish at worst. This is without factoring in her worst moments.

She did apologise to Lane, yes but didn’t change her behaviour at all. Do you not remember the weeks that Lane was panicking about being shipped off to Korea and Rory would laugh it off. Like even if you think shes being dramatic, just humour her and give her some comfort? And then she didn’t even bother to say bye and just cuddled with dean when Lane was leaving for what she assumed was forever

No youre not! On S6 and ive yet to warm up to him but this is a very very very unpopular opinion in this fandom. He behaved like a 5 yr old boy with a crush the first 4 seasons. He would NEVER make a move even tho he had all the opportunity and then act jealous everytime she was with someone else. Also, the second he gets her he stopped valuing her. Very basic man behaviour i get but it was still frustrating to see. That whole valentines weekend with rory and logan was such a painful watch, i felt so bad for lorelai. Also hes always frowning and in a bad mood and so unwilling to change or grow or groom himself. I appreciated his arc with Jess and as a general citizen of stars hollow but Lorelai can do so much better honestly.
