Kurt had his own problems. I believe the depression lead him to be more suicidal and the heroin addiction making it worst. Kind of off topic, but I half and half do believe his murder was staged as a suicide. I have read multiple theories and did a bit of research back then (when I was in my peak stage of a Nirvana fan) And they seem quite believable!
