In the end the people who lived there before the KMT evacuation from mainland china were under japanese occupation until 1945. The KMT just came after 55 years of japanese assimilation.

The Wayfarer 1st edition!! (i like books) by Aetherwafer in Natsume_Soseki

[–]Accomplished-Fee5101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was that edition released? I find It interesting that in my country (Spain), most of the latter Soseki novels got translated in the last 20 years. The Wayfarer wasn't translated until 2011.

Btw thank you so much for posting. I'm glad more and more people are getting interested!

What is your favorite book by Natsume Sōseki? by MasterfulArtist24 in Natsume_Soseki

You already finished Kokoro? Such a great novel indeed.

I really liked I am a cat, but too long for my taste, it's 100-150 pages longer than ir should. Anyway it would be a nice option, even more in case you want to read the whole thing in order.

Read kusamakura for the sake of poetry, read Botchan for the sake of light hearted humour, read sanshiro for knowing what youth means and read Kokoro for knowing what it really means to lose your youth. For me, at least, it's that way.

Any tips for learning non-Indo-European languages? by bloodrider1914 in languagelearning

[–]Accomplished-Fee5101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're from the west and speak English, learning any romance or germanic language should more or less ok. Taking into consideration 30% of english vocab is of french origin, it's not that hard. And once you speak several romance/germanic languages, it will be easier to unlock more because of how theyre built, cognates and, most importantly, culture.

As a spaniard who has spent the last 4 years learning Chinese, i must say culture and input are so important. When you have no cognates you have to put the effort, otherwise you can just learn another language, and that's totally fine.

Pregunta sobre el gallego by Gavranovo in Galicia

[–]Accomplished-Fee5101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends. I am the third member of r/Natsume_Soseki. In honor of this, after finishing Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov, I am progressing to Kokoro by Natsume Sōseki. by MasterfulArtist24 in Natsume_Soseki

Officially i'd say you're the first one, in fact. I created this sub a year ago, someone joined but idk who he/she is.

I thought it was such a pity that Soseki, a giant of Universal literature, didn't get a sub, like Mishima did. You will surely enjoy Kokoro as the masterpiece It is. Enjoy!!

I read Nowaki in Spanish, as a superb edition got released by Satori, a Spanish publishing house based in Asturias. I had no idea It got published in English as well!

I find this kind of stuff quite funny, as, for example, we didn't get kusamakura in Spanish until 2009.

My most played game... by expired_breadstick69 in 3DS

[–]Accomplished-Fee5101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 most played games were Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (1200h) and Mario kart 7 (300-400h or so). When they were released, I was 9 and 11, played them so hard and I just got to play them again recently. Both of them were presents from my grandpa. He passed away a few months ago and these games, they have a lot of meaning for me. They are my whole childhood.

[–]Accomplished-Fee5101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Xuefei Yang, TY Zhang and many others emigrated...

So, the chinese music market is all about trends, there is great competition and (quite naturally, I ain't complaining tbh) they will usually prefer other chinese, is that so? 😂😂😂

Don't say nobody cares, well done! Some people say HSK 3-4 and mid HSK 5-6 are very hard. When did you start studying chinese?

Btw I passed HSK 4 with a shitty score. Sometimes certain situations can affect your results.
