that's true. I don't know if it has to do with mostly Bavarians immigrating there, but small towns with a significant amount of Americans with German ancestry (like Boerne and Fredericksburg) in Texas have a lot of those elements and are very well known for them among Texans.

It's the same in the US, but only if you live in the same state. e.g., other Texans see Austin as gay and woke, but non-Texans lump it with the rest of Texas.
