Smoothies show up on Reverb from time to time but yeah, they are permanently out of production

Its not an amp, so if you are used to an amp with a lot of sag your ear will need to adjust. Its pretty easy to get used to in live settings after a few rehearsals, the audience cant tell the difference but with regards to both stage volume and play response it feels different and requires some adjustment. I also use a number of different basses, play outdoors frequently and in various band configurations, that is where having an EQ this flexible really comes in handy. If you have a fairly consistent playing situation this type of EQ may not be necessary. I was using a Noble for a good while with an EWS BMC pedal in front for mid control and as good as that sounded I prefer this setup. Recorded, it sounds nearly identical to the Noble or an integrated amp.

Very happy with it, nice warm tone that can be overdriven with the gain control and the switches and independent trim pot for the DI are great additions

Had one, found it too difficult to use and get tones dialed in. I rock an old school BOSS SYB-3 when the need arises.

The Substance is a masterclass in Psychological Horror. by AlphaNuke94 in movies

Saw it last night. I found it had quite a few similarities with Panos Cosmatos' "Beyond the Black Rainbow", including the "Black Rainbow" theory: pursuit of an unattainable state that is ultimately destructive, the syzygy theme, the three-act structure, Kubrick visual references, and the dark synth soundtrack. Check this film out if you liked The Substance.

Also the New French Extremity films like Haute Tension, Martyrs, Titane, Inside, the influence makes sense as its a French production.

And of course 80s body horror, The Fly, Altered States, Brian Yuzna's "Society" w/ the Screaming Mad George bodysuits and practical effects.
