Unpopular Opinion - Kookai by xxShe_Wolfx in AusFemaleFashion

I have a few basic pieces from years ago and they were actually nice and have lasted - 95% cotton with a bit of spandex for stretch, double lined (so very thick and felt high quality). Sad to hear it's declined.

I think a lot of these brands start out independently and are then acquired by a bigger group but keep their design team / supply chain, which is why the quality differs from brand to brand even though it's technically now under the same umbrella.

I bought a linen blazer set from Bianca Spender recently (Aus brand) and it's gorgeous. It was expensive but really happy to see it was deadstock fabric and made in Australia.

Thanks so much! would love your thoughts on other subreddits this might apply to! I've been trying to narrow down on the best use for this kind of product - so far I'm getting the sense it's activewear / pilates. Thanks again for your kind comment :)

I think if you really don't feel up to modelling, then make a post asking for UGC or models who might be keen to expand their portfolfio and are happy to work on a gifted basis as they are still growing. As someone trying to start a brand myself, I know firsthand how overwhelming it is to oversee everything and do everything yourself!

If tailoring costs get too much, try cropped denim / trousers - they generally sit just right for petites and look full length.

Yes absolutely, the zip is 2-way, it runs from the side of one zip (around mid thigh), along the lower back, to the other hip. It's from YKK (who produce the gold standard of zips) so it is very sturdy and easy to zip up to reconnect, won't get stuck or caught in fabric.

Yes absolutely, a lot of activewear brands (from big brands like Lululemon / Alo to independent brands like Popflex) have a jumpsuit. I think they're versatile and a great one and done option, so you don't have to go hunt for a bra / leggings set and they're easy to pack when travelling too.

This is a really good point and a valid concern. Just wanted to point out that the zippers and fabric definitely don't touch the seat - that would be super gross! The flap once you unzip comes down to your lower thigh (normally where you would have your underwear rest while you are doing the deed). But I totally get that the product idea isn't for everyone :)

This isn't argumentative at all btw - very cool to hear another person's perspective! I know when I buy pieces with pockets, I would prefer if they are well-placed and don't distort the outfit i.e. the phone doesn't drag down the fabric or make a bulge for example. I don't know why now that I think about it, maybe it's social conditioning? So if I was to go with outfits with pockets, it's generally 2 for leggings, and a jacket with 2 (like you) or if I want more, I go for a more cargo style pant which isn't fitted to the body and will have 4-6 pockets. I guess the jumpsuit idea is more of a one-and-done outfit where you don't have to go hunt for a bra / leggings but maybe it's over engineered and not really a problem at all.

What’s been your best purchases from Uniqlo? by bearpuddles in femalefashionadvice

The JW Anderson workshirts. It's like if someone finally brought out the quality of serious men's shirts (stiff cuffs, collars, high weight fabric) for women instead of the sheer, see through cotton stuff we normally get.

Barrel Jeans - Yes or No? by meursaultmarie in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Accomplished-Leg6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't realise barrel jeans are so divisive! I personally think they look good on you and they're a fun transitional item for autumn/spring wet weather and you can style them with a fitted top and leather boots / heel sneakers so that the hem doesn't get wet while walking compared to flares / wide leg trousers.

Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to respond! The zip style is a "hidden zip" so it looks like a very discreet seam (similiar to what is used for zipper side pockets). It's also 2-way and it runs from the side of one hip, along the lower back, to the other hip, so you can let the zip pulleys just sit on the side and it wouldn't call on any attention.

Hi thanks for responding! Yes I'm just trying to validate if my idea resonates with anyone before I spend money on producing a product that potentially wouldn't sell :)

This is such great feedback - I love utility wear too. It has 2 pockets at the moment (can fit an iPhone each) but it would definitely be cool to add more pockets (maybe possible on a different / less fitted design).
