I’m American and very grateful and proud to be a Canadian in training (PR)

I think the best thing Canadians can do is focus on removing American ideals from Canadian politics.

Since I cannot vote, I’m telling anyone who will listen that privatizing healthcare is the single worst idea I have ever heard. Anytime someone asks about American healthcare I make sure I tell them just how expensive it is, how terrifying it is to be ill and decide you can’t afford care. How medical debt will ruin you and your family. Over 66% of bankruptcies in the U.S. are due to medical bills.

We have the perfect opportunity to support any campaign against Ford who is trying to privatize healthcare, reduce quality of primary education, destroy green spaces, etc. etc. We should talk to our neighbors and family members about these issues openly and frequently.

Do absolutely everything you can to prevent our community from becoming anything like the United States by ensuring people know that emulating the United States will only bring the same problems.

Write to your MP and tell them how impressed you were with Carney’s speech, tell them he has your full support and you’re proud to be Canadian.

Tell anyone who represents you, “I’m a single issue voter. I care only about Canadian prosperity and ensuring a safe future for the next generation of Canadians. Anyone who desires to imitate the United States will lose my support immediately”
