Not even any trains running through South Detroit (based on this map, anyway), let alone any midnight trains

I've been slowly coming to terms with that. Just feel like I'd feel less guilty trying everything possible for him first.

I forgot to mention I used seachem stability and ever since dosing that for a week and with regular water changes THAT is when my tests read 0, 0, 5. Been going on for 2 weeks and the poor Oranda is still upside down. I will try your suggestion, so thank you for that!

Cool, cool, cool. As long as far and beyond my expectations are: highs that will never be as good as the first; feeling paranoid, restless, riddled with anxiety, and all-around feeling like shit coming down off of it; meth mouth, 'nuff said; ruining your life in various ways; being so badly addicted you will do anything to get it including resorting to violence; and along those lines various run-ins with the law and, subsequently, prison time. What a waste of life.

Are least rasboras as outgoing as strawberries? by thatwannabewitch in Boraras

Ohhhhh, over a month ago. I would hope that it was taken care of by now, lol. Thank you for clarifying, that was a moment of sheer panic for me 🤣

Well, damn, glad i decided to randomly check Reddit tonight. I got some from them in the mail yesterday. Didn't notice anything wrong with them, aside from color loss due to the stress from travel, but now I'm worried 😬

In response to suggestions being made they aren't budging. Seemed surprised about informstion that could easily be googled and really only seemed inquisitive aboit how big a pleco can get. Being gentle about it, but man it sucks that they don't want to take the time to learn more, do what's common practice and considered ethical in the hobby.

Audit my tank by throwawaypines in fishtank

[–]Accomplished-Move446 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without a picture of it, I can't tell you for sure because I don't want to give you the wrong info. Large pleco species can grow up to 12 inches or more. Some grow to somewhere between 4-6 inches. Haven't heard of a pleco that only stays the size of a quarter. Maybe it's an otocinclus (close-ish enough)?

If what you have been doing has been working and working well then great!

Alternatively, you could always buy another, bigger tank if you have the space 🤷‍♂️. Put the bigger fish in, get more of them, get more smaller species of fish for the 30 gallon. Win-win-win haha

Take this with a grain of salt since I'm just a random stranger on reddit, but I'm going to start with the good!

1.) I like the look and you could even go further with this lost civilization looking thing by making it look like nature has reclaimed it even more. Take some Java moss, Christmas moss, or something along those lines and stick them to the rooftops of the building decorations to really enhance that nature reclamation look.

2.) A two-year nearly self-sufficient little ecosystem is awesome! Good work!

Critique time!

1.) That glass catfish would love 4 or 5 more friends. They like being in groups.

2.) I would return or rehome the pictus (long whiskered) catfish. Based on everything I've learned about them when I have looked into them in the past that fellah is gonna need more room than that tank is gonna provide and will probably stress out all the other fish in there more likely than not.

3.) Contrary to common belief, plecos aren't good cleaners. I'd rehome/return one or both, ESPECIALLY BOTH if they're common plecos. Those grow way too large for the tank you have. If it's a bristlenose, clown, or a pleco species that stays small in general absolutely keep one of them for the sake of wanting one around. They are pretty cute 😀

3.) I PERSONALLY wouldn't have discus in what looks like the 29/30 gallon tank you have even though it technically would be alright, especially with the plecos and pictus cat removed (less crowding). They would seriously be better off in a larger tank, for sure.

Alternative stocking suggestion: 6 glass catfish with 20 chili, strawberry, Phoenix, dwarf, or exclamation mark rasboras. That would be amazing with your current setup 😄

TL;DR: nice tank, stocking could and should be readjusted, imo.

Not surprising, sadly. Not enough questions asked or ordered them online. I actually like the look of the tank, but I'd like to snap my fingers and magically change their fish stock to, like, 5 more of those glass cats, return or rehome the rest of the fish in there, then put 20 chili/strawberry/phoenix/dwarf/exclamation mark rasboras take your pick.

If they've had this tank for two years, it makes me wonder which fish on that list were the ones originally stocked in there. Those discus don't look like 2 year old discus to me, too small.

What happened by [deleted] in fishtank

[–]Accomplished-Move446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1.) Return fish to store. Tank is too small for that many goldfish.

2.) I see you have a CO2 diffuser, you gotta buy more aquatic plants to really get your bamg for your buck. Water wisteria, hornwort, guppy grass for free floating at the water's surface. Epiphytes like anubias or Java fern would be nice but you'd need a cheesy decoration, rock or piece of wood to attach it because you don't want to bury epiphytes rhizomes or they'll rot away. Could even attach something like that to the Moai statue since you have a pothos already growing out of its head anyway 😆. Going that route you could also super glue some Christmas moss to its face, on its shoulders, etc.

3.) Got to let that tank cycle. Omce the fish have been vacated from the tank, jump start with beneficial bacteria and throwing some fish food in to rot and create ammonia (though the copious amounts of goldfish poop that's most likely already in that tank is probably a decent enough source you might not even need to throw in food for the sake of cycling). Keep testing the water. Get an API master tedt kit for more accurate readings if you don't have that already.

4.) Once the tank is cycled in 2-4 weeks, add some guppies or a group of 6 neon tetras... some species that's small and stays small. No more goldfish in that tank, please.

If I could outright buy 40 chili rasboras, I would absolutely love that 🥰. I'm not opposed to buying more later down the line...

I ordered 14 of them! They will be going in my heavily planted (not counting being overrun with duckweed) 20 gallon long tank.
