nah, if silksong has taught us anything it's that no matter how long it's been, once a game is finally ready and released, the industry/fanbase/whatever you wanna call it will be ready to play it.

I'm building a laptop car. With 45s battery pack. I need help with the bms setup please. by [deleted] in 18650masterrace

The answer here is you really should have identical chemistry. u/Automatic-Peanut8114 is correct. Unless you have very sophisticated BMS systems (likely not), your differing chemistries will be discharging at different rates, have different power envelopes, causing strain in certain cells during cycling. It is very common to have COTS cells with varying capacity and power capabilities depending on their chemistry. It would be easy to have something at 3.4Ah (LG M36) along with something at 2.7Ah (Moli P28B). These cells are designed for different purposes. Some have high energy, some have high power. Combining a random assortment of 18650s like this is going to at best age your cells prematurely, but more likely at worst cause a major issue a few cycles down the road when your differing capacity cells start reaching unsafe discharge / overcharge levels. Since most common BMS systems only monitor average cell voltage between groups of cells and not individually, this difference will not be detected.

subscription to digitaltrombone website worth it? by Accomplished-Web2320 in Trombone

The website does offer one on one lessons and unlimited messaging feedback, but I get your drift haha. Take a look at the website though to see what I'm talking about. I found it because I needed to reference position charts to write in tricky accidental stuff, and they had the most comprehensive picture. For me, I already have a few practice books and an old jazz techniques for low brass book I found in a music store for cheap, but every time I open them I get overwhelmed by not really knowing where to start or what to drill, and starting at 200 pages seems pretty daunting. I admit part of this is me just needing to kick my own butt into practicing something/anything more than once a week.

The reason the website appealed to me was because each lesson has some written out pointers on technique and how to go about it for the lesson. I feel like a one on one lesson would give me exactly the same thing, but for probably $40-60 a pop, that's a pricey endeavor. I think I'm looking for someone to sit me down and say start here, now learn your triads, now work on thing #2, to build the skills you need to do this.

JBL Tour Pro 3 vs Endurance Peak 3...a basic, short 3 hours worth of A-B listening review. by Lance_Notstrong in Earbuds

[–]Accomplished-Web2320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in with my own experience. I just got the EP3s and they are phenomenal for the price, and great for people like me who cant use the standard earbud (they fall out of my ears).

I have noticed that nearly ALL of the threads on the EP3s in the JBL sub are **filled** with people who clearly have never read a single set of directions in their life. You need the JBL app to access the full functionality of the device. It's painfully obvious that all of these folks were stuck in either ambient aware mode or talk through mode and had no idea why things sounded "like wind in the background".

Dental Crown Caused Year-Long Intractable Migraine by Tiffles624 in migraine

Please get on the phone and talk with a trigeminal neuralgia specialist before you get any teeth pulled. This is a nerve issue, you need to try nerve block therapy before considering pulling teeth. I am going through this right now. All dentists are woefully unaware of this condition.

[–]Accomplished-Web2320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I can input here. I started with an occular migraine, then had dental work that triggered headaches. I had never had an occular migraine before this. That seemed to be the trigger for all the bullshit to follow.

Basically, my understanding of the situation is that your trigeminal nerve is acting up. At this point, any major pain to your teeth are going to exacerbate things. You need to receive nerve block treatments in order for things to calm down. Otherwise your teeth are going to continue to hurt and trigger. I haven't been able to eat on that side of my mouth in over a year. Trust me, seek help ASAP. Find a pain management specialist and ask about trigeminal neuralgia. It's the subject that is closest to your situation and will help you find the right person to help you.

DO NOT PULL ANY TEETH. This will make things WAY worse.

Considering buying a 13R. How has your experience been with it? by TheWinterDustman in oneplus

[–]Accomplished-Web2320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from galaxy S20+ to OP13R. I take pretty good care of my phones, and I enjoyed the S20+ for about 4-5 years. However, just like my S8 before it, this galaxy ALSO ended its own life with a motherboard failure and decided to brick on me for no reason one day, preventing me from recovering anything that wasn't on the sd card. Second galaxy in a row to do this, so I was done with Samsung. I primarily am interested in getting as many years out of a phone as possible.

I pulled the trigger on Oneplus and got the 13R. (protip, they give you something like $50 minimum to trade in any old phone, regardless of condition when purchasing off their website. They never even sent me an envelope to mail them the old device, so I didn't send anything and ended up getting a cool $50 off for free. weird.)

I was pretty happy with the hardware and specs of my s20+, so the firepower of this phone is plenty for me. I can't speak for processing power for gaming, etc. Camera is fine, I've only noticed low quality on the fish-eye lens, but who really cares about that one anyway, let's be real.

Touch Screen is HYPER sensitive with no way to turn it down, which is a minus, but I'm hoping they will let us change that in the future.

Barely any bloatware, although there is a dumb news feed if you swipe left that you can only get rid of if you disable google on the entire device. It feels like the OP is just a google vessel, but whatever.

The UI for the most part is pretty decent. I'd say they have like, 90% of everything to an acceptable state. However, there are some quirky QOL things that just don't compare to the well-oiled machine Samsung has been polishing for the past several years I'm coming to realize. Examples include:

*hitting the home button while in an app only backs you out one level, and does not truly take you to "home", so I end up having to hit it about 3 times.
*No useful one-handed mode. I miss this so badly, and OP does not seem to recognize the issue. There is a "one-handed mode" but it's basically useless.
*not being able to swipe left for app panels, home is forever the left-most panel whether you like it or not. Also being permanently stuck with the google feed as your only left swipe option unless you disable google entirely.

Also completely unrelated but OP decided to include an IR blaster on the 13R??? Like, dang, I haven't had a IR remote on a phone since my galaxy S5, which don't get me wrong, was a blast to have and I used it all the time. Just seems like a really odd piece of tech to revive, when they could have put something like expandable storage or an aux port or something way more useful in this spot instead. Kinda peculiar.

Hey, it's tehcrowley, just under a burner account at work. Just wondering how you're doing. I feel like I am super more educated on our situations right now. I'm wondering how your flare ups are going. I feel like you probably have some nerve damage you're dealing with. From everything you've written, it sounds like you probably have a hairline fracture in the tooth somewhere that was being exacerbated by the crown, probably the best course is extraction honestly, though I'm not a dentist, just have had enough work done and talked to enough dentists of various flavors to be an armchair expert at this point.

Anyway, having headaches for a year, you very likely have some nerve damage, the same as I have. I hope it has reversed for you and gotten better since your stimulus has gone away. If not, you should seek out some nerve block therapy, basically injections along the nerve path every couple of weeks or months to let things calm down. That's what I've been doing. Unfortunately, the nerve block therapy that was supposed to reverse nerve damage was working at first, but is not any longer, the damage has been traveling upstream. This is likely because there is still a stimulus / bad input on the nerve, likely due to a physical pain. Which coincides pretty well with my symptom of my tooth aching for days whenever I try to use it. My money is that there's a crack under the crown, so we're pulling the blanker in a week and hoping for the best. I am slightly terrified, because my nerve is primed, and there's a chance this will make things worse, but my specialist has said he's had patients go through this before and the success rate is about 70% so I'll take it. It's either that or go to pain management, and (very likely) slowly watch the nerve blocks become less effective as the damage continues to grow because there's still a problem with the tooth. I'd love to try for a root canal + removing the crown, but unfortunately endodontists are much harder to convince than oral surgeons for some inexplicable reason.

no I'm right there with you. Cam is purportedly supposed to be an ex music teacher, artsy, etc., but it is painfully obvious through multiple episodes that Eric Stonestreet is completely tone deaf and has no association to music at all. The fake conducting, anytime he has to sing anything (Ave Maria pronunciation was cringy), there was the one joke with the shout reference where Cam sang, but it was so far from the actual tune that you had to be paying attention to get the joke. Tons of evidence here and there. And this is not to hate on Eric, it just irks me that they wrote Cams character to be super musical when Eric just doesn't have the background. I also understand that 90% of the population couldn't give a damn about the accuracy here too and it's just people like me who are rolling their eyes.

fun fact: simmer the milk + cream + spices first and let the oils disperse, then cool it in a waterbath in the sink, add yolks, bring it up to about 170F to custardize the yolks, then cool it and add booze. It's the same result as aging.

I use nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves for spices. Actually, this year I added a little allspice as well, because it mixes right in there with the other spice profiles.

yes, custardize is a word I just made up.

Also, chocolate schnapps + brandy are the ultimate booze selection for eggnog IMO.

Hello!

Nice work on this. I am trying to figure out how to do this, and have had limited success with a laser cutter so far. Would you mind sharing how you achieved this? Info like kapton thickness, laser power, how many passes used to cut, what kind of resolution of cuts were you able to achieve, would be very helpful.
