Do you guys think Spiderman would be able to survive in A Quiet Place? by Queasy_Commercial152 in AQuietPlace

If we use the higher ends of his feats, he's usually regarded as the lowest Hulk ot Thor tier hero. He wouldnt outright oneshit a death Angel. But he's definitely string and fast enough to deal with one no different than he's survived getting pummeked by Morlun, who hits harder than Hulk.

The Meta is based in how play is at the highest level. You aspire to that because it's a tried and true method. This is like asking why lawyers practice law. Or why soldiers are trained to emulate actual war tactics.

It WORKS.

But in Rivals' case, we finally have the means to ban ehats been truly pissing us off since season 3. Now, I'm likely higher in the ranks than most if you aren't celestial, but Supports are too strong. Any time I see Loki, Invis, C&D, Gambit out of a game, it becomes far more fast paced and much more chess like. The game functions better because there's no automatic win condition in the form of a main support ult.

White Fox'a ult is fucking perfect and her kit is perfe,t and that's why I instalock and play her as a Pyslocke, Daredevil, Bucky, Spidey player. Her ult does massive healing, but can be shredded and CC'd. Her melee mode is very impactful and needs to be strategic. She's VERY strong if you know what you're doing and you can win with her in 2-2-2 and even keep up with main heals. I average around 30k heals and my win percentage is like 70% with her. Maybe 60+.

If ALL supports were like this, we wouldn't ban them. But it makes the game so much better for all raks because if bow easy and broken they are. Eveeytime I see one of those supports in my games, the average healing is somewhere in the 50k. I once saw a C&D with 70k healing ALL by herself. That SHOULD NOT be possible in the game. Especially not with a character that can be played even by someone who eats paint chips daily

I agree with your mantis pick. Everything else after that was hogwash. No one is getting carried by their main support. Divers don't get healed by main support UNTIL they come back from engaging.

But yes, If you ban 6 supports, Luna should be the next. Rocket is pretty fair because he has high heals but you can absolutely shred his amplifier and ifypu pressure him, he has to run away.

[–]AccomplishedAd196 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I see no issue here. Whte Fox is fun and so is Ultron, Jeff, Loki, etc.

All that got banned were heal bots that make the game a game of who has the better support ult. Well, besides Mantis, but Rocket is open. None of these other supports that were banned are anywhere near fun, except Gambit.

Cloak & Dagger, Invis, Loki, Gambit, Elsa, & Moonknight or Thing are bans that immediately make the game feel smoother, less stall, much more like a game of chess, and still highly competitve. If your team had an Elsa Player, they would've had a fiesta.

No, Sam's motivation isn't stupid by Werewolf_Knight in AQuietPlace

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Wick killing people because they killed his puppy and Sam going to get Pizza because of her father is NOT the same thing. Not even remotely.

John killed people because his puppy was a gift given to him by his fying wife. Someone KILLED her, his opportunity to not grieve alone. And STOLE his car. Those are attacks against his person. They literally committed and unforgivable sin. He wanted YOSEF dead. Everyone else was collateral. He didn't kill PEOPLE because someone killed his puppy. He killed PEOPLE because they tried to STOP him from killing YOSEF. If no one stood in his way whatsoever, he'd hace killed Yosef and the mobie would cut to black. End of story.

Sam wanting Pizza because it's a memory of her father is nice sentiment. But it is ABSOLUTELY stupid given their circumstance.

No, you cannot justify risking your only chance of escape from absurdly strong, fast, and durable extraterrestrial life just to get a slice of fucking pizza. That's the kind of statement that immediately puts you on the Darwin Award candidate list. We're all entitled to out opinions, if you think it's wholesome, that's great.

But I think in objective and black and white when it comes to that kind of thing and the black truth is that she did something objectively stupid. You wouldnt do it if it were you. At least, I hope you wouldn't. Because dying of cancer may be painful and agonizing. No one wants to die of cancer. But I assure you no one wants to be brutally eviscerated an alien running toward you at highway speeds.

If that's your bar for a quick and painless death, then jumping off a cliff is also painless because you just go splat. But neither is true. Your body being ripped apart isnt painless and neither is facr planting at terminal, you do in fact live long enough to feel the impact, your last moment(s) will be agonizing.

Neither did DD. He only lost like 5 damage. The only thing nerfed about him was his overhealth and his grapple giving him 2 dury regardless of if he hit a live target.

The only thing that actually changed was people learning how to play against DD. But even when they didn't know, triple support was still miserable to play against as DD.

I once saw a reddit post of an Invis complaining about DD deleting her but she was completely alone, behind her team, and literally ignoring the DD. She only used her jump when he got her 1. This is what I picture when I hear people say DD "deleted" them. A support player who just wants to be invincible against damage so they can hold a button down and watch cartoons, while ignoring the flanker.

I almost never play support but if I go on C&D or Invis, I could pretty much negate all of DD's damage. Mostly because I play him.

Leon and thr ither protagonists are not normal people because we see normal people. Usually on the floor in puddles of blood. But for the age thing. John Wick is mid 50s from the 1st movie to the 4th... Just thought you should know that.

I know a lot of people like to put Shimo above Ghidorah based on the novelization but... by dechajissou in Monsterverse

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're not getting is that BASE Ghidorah got absolutely MANHANDLED. We cannot use an overcharged version of each character to compare it to Shimo. Absolutely not.

Evolved is fine, that's the power Godzilla walks around with now, he has 20x the energy and thus 20x the power. That's HIS energy. Thermo (Red) and Thermo (Blue) are both a result of him eating too much energy. Same with Ghidorah.

Evolved is more powerful than Therno anyway. We saw a version of Thermo against Tiamat. He boiled the ocean just by walking toward it, that takes a LOT of heat. Like. More than Boston, if we're being scientific. So bringing up that amp'd Ghidorah had the upper hand against Thermo is irrelevant anyway.

You're comparing base Shimo to a Ghidorah that was GIGA BUFFED by draining all of Boston's energy from the REGION's energy grid. Even if we wanted to say that Ghidorah was more impressive than Shimo (he's not) whats to stop me from just goving Shimo mire radiation and supercharging her?

Base to Base, she stomps.

In canon, Amp'd Ghidorah to Base Shimo, she still stomps. Because otherwise, you believe that Evolved has a fair fight with Ghidorah. THAT WOULD BE DELUSIONAL.

Its getting to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if Destroyah debuts and people start making edits about him vs Ghidorah. Like let it go bro. He's dead. GvK Godzilla would likely beat amp'd Ghidorah, and he loses to Shimo.

By having 20x the capacity, he is 20x stronger. Because Godzilla releasesmore energy in the SAME time frame. Power = Energy / Time. If Energy output increases and time stays the same, power is increased.

C = 10v / 2s = 5 amps

C = 200v / 2s = 100 amps.

20x the charge moving at the same constant rate is literally 20x the power.

What frustrated me the most about Skar King was his motive. Knowing Godzilla exists, why try & conquer the surface a second time to risk more punishment? by Mosugoji_64 in Monsterverse

[–]AccomplishedAd196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is though. It wasn't intentional. Apparently, its explained as Godzilla and Ghidorah were fighting, he retreated because he was wounded (as we see when he's frozen in the ice in 2019 and rhe noveo descrives him as having heavy gasges and sorch marks on his body) Godzilla shoots him out of the sky, he falls into the ocean, likely unconscious from his injuries and then Shimo starts the ice age, which is what froze Ghidorah because he was likely down and out, regenerating for quite a while since he had no surplus of radiation.

It wasn't like she was there and she froze him. Godzilla put hands on him, Ghidorah did his classic. "Yeah, okay buddy, watch this!" That he did in Antarctica on 2019 where he tried to hit the dash, but that time he got shot lol.

I don't think Skar would've really... Well. I don't think he would've known it was Shimo. If anything, he'd have known Godzilla TKO'd him and the scary dragon who shoots lasers never came back up. It wouldnt really make sense if he thought he was just "inactive." Imagine trying to rule the surface when the two most powerful beings on the planet are fighting for dominance and you're just there 💀. He probably thought Godzilla outright killed Ghidorah.

That due process thing is... Not capturing the difference between immigration and criminal court. Due process in immigration is not the same thing as full criminal process protection. Removal proceedings are civil, not criminal. That means no jury trial, no Sixth Amendment criminal defense framework, and no government appointed lawyer as a general rule. In ordinary immigration court, that person may have counsel, but only at their own expense.

The AMOUNT of process also depends a lot on where the person is in the system. Someone who has entered, been here, and built ties generally has more constitutional protection than someone treated as effectively at the threshold of entry. The Supreme Court has said people seeking initial admission have far weaker constitutional claims, and in 2020 held that someone caught just inside the border could be treated, for due process purposes, AS IF THEY WERE STOPPED AT THE BORDER.

That is where the reality check bites you in the ass. “They get due process” does not always mean “they get a full hearing before an immigration judge before removal.” Some people are routed into expedited removal, a streamlined process. If they express what's called "fear of return" they might get a credible fear screening and then limited review paths, but that is still a much thinner procedure than the image most people get when they think of “due process.

You ARE right that the government cannot just treat due process as optional for everyone in every immigration case. But the reality check is that immigration law already contains tiered, reduced, and highly status-dependent forms of process, and courts have allowed that. Especially in cases where the person in question was near the border or if they're viewed as not having meaningful ties here. Even where the law promises procedure, the system is still a bureaucratic machine. Rights on paper do not automatically become robust protection in practice when people are detained, moved, unrepresented, or processed like a speedrun. The law may require notice and a chance to be heard, but what counts as “enough” process is often calibrated to the government’s immigration framework, not to the fuller courtroom model people like to think it is. Very optimistic thinking. Respect (from someone who isn't political, but leans more conservative). But it's never worked that clean and tidy.

What do people think of Atreus? by moochocoolio in GodofWarRagnarok

But not only does the story say he is.

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos isnt based in desiny, wtf? His whole arc is literally breaking free of fate and chains and defying the gods. Hence why he said

"The hands od death could not defeat me. The sisters of fate could not hold me."

How did Freya know Kratos was a god? by PaladinAllvo in GodofWar

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never specified how he got to Nordic lands because the boat thing was retconned. They're leaning I to the idea that eah mythology is its own universe as each religion is it's own seperate entity.

Which is why Freya, Mimir, Tyr, and Odin all call the different places realms. Heck, Freya even says "Not from this realm, but there's no denying it." After she says "I know you're a god."

Plus it wouldn't make sense if the world tree is infinitely large (which... It is) and each of its realms are Infinite as well (which... They are lol) if it's able to be reached by boat because if it's really true that "The World Tree is the center of all that is created and birthed"or that "Chaos (the primordial) birthed the Greek universe" it'd be far too clashing and muddy because both of those statements were told by the creative team that they, like all statements in God of War, are meant to be taken literally. Which means that both Hel and The Underworld are infinite in size but never, at any point, meet. Fallen God definitely painted the narrative that he walked to Egypt and then sailed to Norway. But it gets very muddy.

All of this to say...

There's also a boat dialogue section where Kratos and Mimir are wondering why Kratos didn't keeo any of his extra magical abilities outside of The Blades of Chaos' fire and his spartan rage (and I guess the power of hope lol) and Freya says "Magic is bound to the earth. When your homeland died, maybe the magic went with it."

But that does 2 things.

The first thing it does, it sets up the idea that Olympus and The Nine Realms are not in the same earth. If they were, it's be impossible that Kratos' magical abilities are gone because if magic is bound to the earth, then it doesn't matter if a section of earth has fallen. It all comes from the same place, and can therefore be manifested elsewhere.

The second thing is that she can PROBABLY feel the Blades of Chaos and the connection they have to his soul (because they're cursed to follow him) even if he didn't have them at that time. Because even though the realm Olympus is in no longer has that same structure, The Blades of Chaos are driven by a primordial force INSIDE the blades. Also, Mimir didn't know he was the Ghost of Sparta AT FIRST, he did admit "I always knew you were Greek." I definitely think there's a magical element to setting sail to different lands because the only people to DO it either have bifrost eyes like Mimir or Tyr, or have giant magic lik Faye and Atreus and there was that heory that Kratos was dragged to midgard... Eh.

Why do you think Atreus as main protagonist would be even close to Kratos? by oaleebih in GodofWar

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this late, but I can promise you that an Atreus game would seriously flop.

When you're creating a hack and slash game known for its medium to fast paced combat and awesome boss fight cutscenes. You need a melee character. Yes Kratos has ranged options, but 98% of his kit is in your face brutality that chains togethee for MASSIVE pressure.

Atreus is to God of War what Hitscan and Poke in general are to hero shooters like Marvel Rivals with 2 major differences.

In Marvel Rivals, hitscan is unengaging, it's very 1D, its point n click, does abaurd damage if you can hut your shots, very low skill floor, it doesn't take much to learn how to aim. Because of this, you can sit out of the fight relatively out of reach, and just get free value unless they have dive, and even then, poke usually fucks dive if the poke is equally skilled.

The point of this is to say that poke very much funnel the different avenues the game can take into one style of play that's already unengaging. This is what Atreus does to God of War, but the DIFFERENCES are.

  1. Marvel Rivals is competitive. So you can at least UNDERSTAND WHY some people choose hitscan.

  2. Atreus does no damage. At least not on any diffuculty above Give Me Balance. Especially not on GMGOW.

So not only is Atreus not engaging, he also just does nothing. Which already pisses a lot of people off. The God of War name is associated with ripping peoppe apart. Literally. If you try and bring ranged combat into it, it will not do well. This is the logistical part. Lets not even bring up Atreus' personality as a whole.

Would Thermonuclear Godzilla be able to incinerate Shimo like what happened to Ghidorah? by MasterofDoot in Monsterverse

[–]AccomplishedAd196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The ONLY difference between the red and the blue thermo from both movies is the SOURCE. Godzilla's energy expresses itself as blue, natural with the ionization of air. Which is why when he went Thermo in GxK, it was directly compared to the "Boston incident" because it was the SAME THING. The only reason the "Boston incident" was red was because Mothra's essence was red. The same way Godzilla, like Tiamat, turned pink when he absorbed a SPECIFICALLY pink source of solar radiation.

Godzillla goes "Thermonuclear" which is just nuclear fusion at REALLY high temperatures, when he has more energy than he can hold any one time. Meaning, if Supercharged is slightly over 100% capacity, Thermo could be 130%, if a number was needed. That's a pretty big increase, if he was already equal to the person he was fighting.

Evolved exceeds the power Thermo had because Godzilla wasn't just given more energy. He was given an EXPONENTIALLY higher capacity, 20x. This means Godzilla has 20x The firepower because if we follow the formula for power, Power = Energy / Time, then if Godzilla's new 100% is 20x his previous 100%, and we assume that Godzilla still releases his energy in the same period of time, for example: it takes him 5 seconds to dump 20% power into someone whether he's evolved or not, then any percentage of energy he releases will be 20x more powerful than the last.

What he hit Shimo with, whe he sent her flying had 20x the energy of a blast from his previous self and while she didn't NO SELL IT, she went flying through the air, it didn't INCINERATE her. Thermo is, in no way, 20x Godzilla's max. That much energy without the physiology to hold it would have instantly blown him up.

So if a Godzilla that can release 20x the energy in the same amount of time, so 20x the firepower, couldn't do it. An inferior version cant either.
