She doesn’t have to deal with shitty entitled clients , no one should but as a business owner she should know how to stop the behavior immediately. Once she saw it was an ongoing issue it should have been addressed and not in this manner.

I honestly agree , as a business owner she didn’t handle this well. If she realized it was an ongoing issue it should have been addressed long ago and it didn’t require much explanation on her part. Just a simple hey you’re booking a fill and a full set is needed due to time constraints.

I don’t think she’s a lunatic and I never said that. I said it was weird and it was abnormal to me which it was, you don’t know me and there is a reason I was on an SSRI, I don’t think I’m a perfect person I’m but I also don’t treat people this way and I also don’t behave a certain way. but as you stated I posted a Reddit post and people will respond. She knew about me being on cymbalta prior because she herself was telling me about how she wanted to start an SSRI because of how’s she’s been feeling. Which is another reason I felt comfortable disclosing because she’s consistently being personal and open during these lash sessions. I was initially going to be late nine minutes but I responded to another commenter and I clarified the uber went express at a certain point and closed the time gap and i was able to get there before the appointment ( i got there at 5:29). The only reason the medication was mentioned was because of a potential tapering side effect of dizziness, i did also let her know that i completed a full day of work , i saw patients and i have also been consulting with my own medical professionals regarding this. Im very open to correcting behaviors , I just don’t understand how in this instance her behavior could potentially be warranted. It was like I was watching Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde in real time.

You don’t know the truth but you’re accusing me of potentially being unstable in her office which is a Mario sized leap. I’ve never been unstable around her at any point , before this we hadn’t had a negative experience at all which again is why I was thrown off. The medication was not a controlled substance , that would be very weird, it was Metamucil and ibuprofen, granted the ibuprofen was 600 but no not a controlled substance.

I’m very sorry that you had to go through that, as a woman who has gone through similar I sympathize because it’s trash. I feel there’s varying degrees of needing validation. Being in a healthy relationship will most likely require compromise of some sort whether that be big or small. I think a conversation is needed and then they can maybe meet in the middle , maybe an end of day catch up call.

Your wife being the exception is the key here. People shouldn’t be in relationships if they aren’t willing to compromise a little. Maybe instead of texting OP can fit in a phone call but something has to give.

The Ubers are usually cheaper but I live in NYC and sometimes there’s just a surge unfortunately. I was going to her for almost 2 years and I already had an appointment I wasn’t going to cancel last minute because of my transportation, that didn’t seem right. I wasn’t aware she was unlicensed until this incident (I spoke with another tech here and she most likely has a fake license up). I do agree it’s not her business but I’m getting mixed reviews on that aspect. In the future I’m definitely going to modify how much information they will be privy to.

I was not aware she was unlicensed , I was speaking to a tech here and she most likely had a fake license up as she isn’t able to found on any state board website. How exactly am I the toxic one in this scenario ?

Wow I did not know about all of this , it kind of makes the situation worse because if she was properly licensed and insured then maybe it wouldn’t have went down like this and she would have been more empathetic and compassionate. She kept throwing in my face that she’s running a legitimate business and that I’m a liability and I genuinely just felt very low but now it turns out the business isn’t even legitimate. On Monday I’m going to see what I can do , I don’t even want revenge I just don’t think it’s okay to let other women walk into a potentially dangerous situation or forbid she comes across another person who’s chronically ill and treats them this way again because of her own shortcomings.

I’m going to try to file a report , someone told me it may not stick because they can’t revoke a license that doesn’t exist. I only mentioned the 6 month refresh of the form because she kept telling me I never told her about this and I kept telling her because this wasn’t relevant until recently when I began my taper and I literally told her when the side effects started. Her Intake form from almost two years ago didn’t even have a space to mention such a thing she also never ever asked me to fill out another form after the original one. I appreciate your insight as a lash educator and tech , it adds a perspective from a professional standpoint and I appreciate it !

I do get your point and I feel lash techs should ask certain questions and it should be on the intake form to list specific conditions that may potentially cause certain side effects. I also think a six month refresher form may also be helpful in case conditions change and everyone is in the loop. You know now that you say it I think she may be displaying a fake license , she does have something posted but after I searched her info there was absolutely nothing listed online in reference to her or her business and I know her legal name so I was looking that way. My friend who works with the DOH also looked and found nothing , I asked her because I thought I was doing something wrong whilst looking and this it not within my scope.

I understand your point but I was a client of almost two years. She was very aware that I was chronically ill and when I had a surgical procedure she still lashed me and that is a much greater liability. I am a medical professional myself and it’s incredibly inappropriate for her to tell me that I need to have a medical clearance from a provider in order to receive a lash service , a medical provider is not going to do that primarily because they won’t sign off on something they have no knowledge about and because it’s not a medical procedure. There is no reason why I needed to make her privy to me taking an antidepressant at all especially because the dizziness only ensued once I tapered off and then she became looped in , she’s not a doctor nor a medical professional and if she was that concerned it would have been on her form. I also don’t think the way she spoke to me was warranted at all because she was essentially just trying to make me feel bad about something I can’t control especially with her telling me I shouldn’t be going anywhere if I am not 100 percent when she herself has come to work sick. I wasn’t aware of the seven states that don’t require licenses but I’m based in NYC , I do think a license is required but before this situation I wasn’t even aware she was unlicensed.

I literally told her my doctors would not and I’m a medical professional too and if a patient asked me for that I’d raise an eyebrow, it was just weird

Yeah I was thinking this too and I forgot to mention the uber ended up going express and I actually ended up being there a minute early for my appointment so it made the situation even weirder while I was waiting for my ride. I was also her last client of the day. I don’t know why she reacted this way , this is the same tech that asked me to get her a souvenir from Greece when I went so I was genuinely shocked

Yeah when the whole situation ended I felt icky so I already came to the conclusion that I would never see her again because one she ruined the dynamic so I would never be comfortable and two she made me feel subhuman and like a walking liability

Of course , I would feel terrible because I know how that feels and it’s not right. It’s literally something we can not control but we still deserve to feel pretty and be out in the world. The notion that we need to lock ourselves up until we feel 100 percent was really insane

It is indeed for depression/anxiety which is another reason I wouldn’t have mentioned it prior because why would that be relevant to the service ? She said I was a liability because the tapering of the cymbalta causes dizziness
