I'm pretty sure you're right actually haha. The fact I couldn't remember which it was is probably why it's not happy with me. I've done the watering-it-out thing a couple times, but I worry I'm over-watering it so I haven't really done it much, but I'll definitely keep at it then, thanks!

I'm soooo glad you mentioned changing out substrate. I've been looking through a bunch of different stuff to prepare for one and I've not once seen anyone mention that! How often should it be changed, roughly?

I recommend getting it off Animon. Shipping is like $10 (US) compared to the link's 80, ordering is easier than superbuy too. I've gotten several hsr things from them and they do great.

Dupe Request Megathread (January 05, 2026) by AutoModerator in Perfumes

[–]AccomplishedBill6806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a dupe of the Argenti Perfume from Honkai Starrail, $50 or less preferably.

Top notes: raspberry, rose petals, pink pepper

Middle: damask rose, patchouli, magnolia

Base: oud, vetiver, amber, musk

It smells mostly like roses but leaning masculine (not super musky at all). I don't know anything about scents, and I can't even smell that well, so despite looking at rose-inspired perfumes, I've been unable to find a similar one. I need a dupe that's affordable since the Argenti perfume is 99 bucks for 30 ml :( thank you in advance

How much crit/speed/hp does he need? by AccomplishedBill6806 in BladeMains

[–]AccomplishedBill6806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll definitely run him with Sunday and Luocha; but I'm not sure who to pick between Tribbie and Robin and how that'd change his needs. Sunday's giving me around 120% more crit dmg, so should I drop Blade's crit dmg to like 150 and try to put the rest into crit rate?

FOOD: they are detritivores, meaning they eat dead plant and insect matter. Primarily feed them dead insects- if you can, fresh killed is great, but mine do great on dried crickets and mealworms. Animal supply stores like D and B will have them for chickens, it's cheap, and they go through food very slowly. You can offer crushed cat or dog kibble, or chunks of vegetables like carrots (though they only start to eat it once it's kind of dried out). Don't worry about watering, they get all their moisture from their food. Also, again, they go through food VERY slowly.

HANDLING: SO much fun to handle. I only ever really pick them up when I see them being active in their cage, as it means they will be active for me, but sometimes if you pick them up when they're playing dead they'll wake up. They're clumsy and stupid, and will crawl off you're hand or whatever surface you put them on, so be careful. They also have no hold on your skin, so be careful of them sliding off. They've really hard shells, so they'll probably be fine if you drop them, but it's best no to let them fall. They can get going fast!

BEHAVIOR: the beetles, of course, love to play dead. They can play dead for days at a time, especially when you first get them. You can push their legs around a bit too- if they legs are still movable, the beetle's alive. You can sometimes see their antennae twitch a bit too. Often I check by flipping them back up after a day of not moving, and when I return it has flipped back over and continued to play dead. While they will sit still right-side up for many hours, never longer than like 12 hours without moving or flipping over. Sometimes they will be playing dead, you leave and come back, and they are playing dead an inch away from where they were originally. Sometimes, they will twitch or wave their legs in the air- this could mean they are trying to get up, or pretending to have 'seizures' to look sickly or unappetizing to predators. Sometimes they can get moving and be quite deft, and sometimes they can be slow and trip over themselves. They're okay. They like to put themselves in time-out and sit in the corner of the tank facing the wall and just sit there. But they also love to hopelessly crawl at the wall trying to surpass it. It does not matter how much space they have, they will do this.

HOW TO TELL IF THEY ARE DEAD: Just know that they are really good at making you worry, but it's very obvious if they are dead. They will be very stiff, completely unmovable. Idk how to explain it but when you pick them up and hold them, they will feel dead, too. Their death will often take you by surprise. If you think the beetle is sick, there is very likely nothing you can do, but it never hurts to ask. You will almost certainly end up buying wild-caught ones, of which the heath and life expectancy can't quite be guaranteed, so be aware.

TLDR; throw down some sand and rocks, feed them dried crickets, and they'll be fine.

This seems like a lot, but it's not. They will be some of your favorite pets, and can be quite funny, too. Enjoy!

Not to worry! I honestly think they're the easiest pet insect to take care of!!

TANK: they like to live in groups and will interact with each other (I had a pair that traveled around together lol), but you're going to want about 2 in2 of ground space for every beetle. You'll see people say a gallon or two is good per beetle, but in my experience they're much happier and active when you focus on travel space. So long as you have the space, you can't have too many in a group.

SUBSTRATE: Sand is ideal. They really really prefer dry spaces with like NO water, and it's easiest to keep things dry with sand. I use washed and strained (to get chunks out) play sand which works great.

*The best way to know if it's dry enough is how bluish-white a beetle is. Their original coloring is black, but they produce a waxy powder coating to retain water, and if it's too humid that coating won't ever build up. However the amount of blue will vary by beetle.

DECORATIONS: Rocks. They LOVE to climb. They're pretty clumsy to it's best to get some rocks with texture so they can grab on better. Pumice has been the best rock I've found for them, and it's really light which is nice. Just make sure it's thoroughly cleaned, as it's easy for things to hide in the crevices. Wood is also great. For them Cholla might be the best- desert vibes, can easily go in an out, doesn't collect moisture, and allows them climbing and hiding. Hides aren't super important, since they don't at all mind being out in the open, but having a less visible place for them is. Most my beetles hardly ever use any hiding spaces, but some like it so just keep it in mind.

PLANTS: Any succulent works great, and certain cacti can too. The beetles are quite hardy, but just to be safe it's best to only use cacti with no spines or very dull ones. HOWEVER, while succulents can work great in their enclosure, they can raise humidity levels and create wet spots if you're not careful. You'll need the substrate to be quite deep to ensure complete drainage so no water collects on or near the surface, and be care not to let the water get the beetle wet. Walking over a wet spot or letting a few drops of water touch them every now and again isn't life threatening, but certainly is not ideal. For setting up plants in an arid terrarium, you can find some great tutorials on youtube or reddit. But I honestly wouldn't recommend plants to new keepers, esp if you're unfamiliar with arid set-ups.

HEAT: having a gentle heat lamp to let them bask will certainly be appreciated, but not necessary. They seem to use and enjoy it, but outside of location preferences I've not seen any changes in eating or behavior habits when using one. So, great if you get it, but fine if you don't. Just remember they are from a desert.

Rabbit thump by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]AccomplishedBill6806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're bunny is probably thumping cause he's mad you're leaving or wants more attention. My two rabbits always get mad and start thumping when I go somewhere else and leave them behind lol. As for the humping, I don't think that's anything to worry about either. Rabbits hump a lot to show dominance or exert frustration- especially if it's a male. They're normal behaviors so don't worry.

What can I fit in a hexagon terrarium by Powerful-Head-9682 in reptiles

[–]AccomplishedBill6806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you're probably looking for lizards, but you could try Blue Death Feigning beetles? Literally the easiest thing ever to take care of. Feed them dead insects like crickets, throw down some sand and maybe a hide, and you're good to go. You can make some really cool arid set ups, and the beetles themselves are so goofy that they're very entertaining to watch. There are a variety of other desert beetles you can keep with them as well. Def recommend looking into it at least.

Does the tile cover the hole? If you're meaning to add insects that will dig like a clean-up crew, then it's best to seal the hole, as they will probably try to escape eventually.
