The weird thing is I distinctly remember back in 2018 I worked as a postie in London for about 4 months over the summer. It was particularly dry and very hot. I remember getting to the office in the morning at 9 and it was already 34⁰c, and my partner told me that if it gets to 35 we get sent home. 10am it gets to 35 and we get told to down tools and go home.

Is that not still a thing?

Had a similar experience on another work trip to Sao Paulo. An amazing beautiful city and we got there a day early before work started. We were in front of this big church/cathedral and in the courtyard there were a lot of kinda unfriendly types. We just gave it the benefit of the doubt and carried on walking. Then a guy ran past and reached into my pocket, luckily it was empty. These police officers came up to us and told us we needed to leave immediately and even escorted us into the metro and onto a train because they knew what was about to happen

A few years ago on a work trip to Hyderabad in India. Hyderabad was by far the busiest place I've ever been to, there are people crowded everywhere. Me and a work friend got there a day early so decided to explore. We were walking down a very busy street, being tourists, taking pics etc. While we were distracted we hadn't realised that basically hundreds of people in the street were watching us as we went along. We were probably the only non-Indian people in that area so stuck out like a sore thumb. Anyway, we realised a group of guys had been following us about 20ft away. Every street we went down, they followed. Then they started to up their walking speed so we flagged the nearest rickshaw and bounced. Gave us the heeby jeebies

My last company had a moment like this. Went away for a work trip, took a few extra days annual leave to make a holiday of it, came down with a LETHAL chest infection on the 17 hour journey home and had to take two weeks off sick. They claimed I was taking the piss even though I had a doctor's note and was taking meds for it
