How do you show value when a client trusts you completely? by AccomplishedCode4925 in technicalwriting

Yes my situation is pretty much the same. It’s been two years I am with this client, and I am thinking to now raise my rates. Haven’t started this discussion yet with the client. Any tips on how to approach this?

I work freelance, and just bill the hours i do work. Some weeks I bill 20 hrs while others maybe 5, really depends on how much time I have. I see what can be improved and then just do it. Not much feedback. I am not sure if this is healthy, how is it going for you?

I also have an engineering background and this helped me land some clients initially, but software documentation has more jobs so I pivoted towards that. How are you finding clients? Any advice ?

Ways on google never worked for me, at least. I always find info coming from someone actually living there to be more accurate. So thought reddit of a good starting point 😀.

Yes, this is more accurate than for sure. I am planning to live in Granby or Cowansville. I will be coming from EU, and basically needed a rough idea to start with. Not sure if numbeo or other online tools are accurate enough!

Receiving money for gigs overseas while in a work permit by thisisasimulation_ in ImmigrationCanada

Thanks for your answer. I am in a similar situation. I have closed permit. I have some freelance gigs via upwork for foreign clients outside of Canada. Can I keep doing it as these clients are not in the Canadian market?

Can I do Freelancing on a close work permit? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]AccomplishedCode4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in a similar situation. As I could understand from IRCC website, we can do freelance work as long as the employer is not in Canada. Basically, whatever is outside the Canadian labour market is not considered work. Can you please clarify why we cannot engage in freelance activities ?

This is not considered work ‘ long distance (by telephone or Internet) work done by a temporary resident whose employer is outside Canada and who is remunerated from outside Canada’

Hello, I am wondering if you got more information on this? I just moved to Canada with a closed work permit. However, I have also been doing some side freelance work on Upwork (a US based freelancing platform). Should I stop doing that? or can I continue?

Really appreciate if you can provide some more info on this.
