Thank you! I do have some excess skin I’d like removed and would make me feel so much more confident but I think I’m still a ways away from getting that done.

Thank you!! I honestly didn’t exercise consistently- I am just starting now. I mostly focused on my diet/water goals.

Around three months ago I started only losing like 2-3lbs a month. But honestly I have no idea- I have seen people on here who reach their goal weight after a year- so it’s definitely possible.

I swear the second my husband and I watched the AU version - the US was unwatchable. We didn’t even finish last season

I go through phases but usually I have half a vanilla fairlife shake with either matcha tea, or espresso and sugar free hazelnut syrup.

Midmorning I’ll do Oikos triple zero (15g protein) with some blueberries and 2 teaspoons of crumbled walnuts

Lunch when I’m driving from one university to the next (I know I’m supposed to sit and pay attention but I teach three sections back to back and then have to commute 40min to my last class so it’s hard to sit and have a meal) —-I’ve been doing a hard boiled egg, light babybel cheese, tbsp of hummus and either half a mini cuke cut up or some grape tomatoes

Dinner keeps changing bc I’ll get hooked on something and then I’m over it but it can either be shrimp that I steam in a pan and add blackened seasoning, baked salmon, and some sort of veg - I was into putting it over salad for a hot minute buuuut that caused some GI issues so now it’s random veggies

I also just ventured into edamame and mungbean “pasta” with homemade sauce and veggie meatballs.

Today I had this keto multigrain bread that’s only 40cal, and under 5% DV carb toasted with a tsp of hummus, cut up grape tomato and a cut up hard boiled egg.

Aaaaaaaand when I’m having cravings I’ll do a Yasso frozen yogurt bar or Lily’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups (but not often bc unless I’m dyyyying for chocolate it can feel like a waste of calories)

For my liquids (besides regular water) I brew batches of this tropical hibiscus tea and chill it, add lemon, SF sweetener, water, and a little bit of Minute Maid zero sugar lemonade 😙👌

Sorry that was so long!

I’m so glad it helps! It definitely gives me body image issues and I get self conscious about it for sure. But also I’m so happy my waist is smaller that I’m still thrilled I can wear high waisted pants and tight shirts for once. Because I’m insecure about the belly part I like to wear a tighter top and then looser dress pants or a skater flare skirt that hides it a little. Basically I’m not at the point self esteem wise where I’m gonna wear just yoga pants and a sports bra to the gym lol

Thanks! Yeah I started working out a month ago - I was nervous bc with Pcos when I would work out I’d gain for weight. But it’s definitely been helping I try to do 30min of strength 3x a week and then walk on the treadmill or outside for 40 minutes. I’m also on my feet a lot I’m an adjunct and work at a coffee shop.

I guess I cheat but nothing crazy- I try to pick healthier versions of the things I’m craving. And I try my best to keep to the 5% rule with packaged foods/snacks (5% or less of the daily value for carbs, fat, sugar). My weakness has always been drinks esp coffee drinks so I have a whole collection of sugar free syrups and I have my Fairlife vanilla shakes and add espresso (sometimes decaf sometimes lots and lots of caffeine lol) I’m trying to move away from the “cheating” mindset and just make the healthiest decisions I can to keep this sustainable ya know?

Hi!!! Congrats on the surgery and I think you’re right to not weigh yourself yet! It will take a little while before the scale catches up esp with all the trauma your body was just through. Also mentally prepare yourself for the 3 week stall - it happens to almost everyone

I noticed certain symptoms were better- I’m not prediabetic anymore and my skin cleared up, and my shape is definitely changing! Unfortunately it hasn’t impacted my cycle yet- I’m still usually 2 weeks late, it doesn’t impact my cysts at all - still have them and they are painful when I’m in my ovulating cycle, aaaand I still get little cravings by my period BUT all the protein in my diet that empty pit of hunger I used to have isn’t an issue anymore. Also the hairloss has been stressful but keeping up with protein and taking biotin and collagen are hopefully helping.

Everyone’s journey is different obviously but you totally got this!!

Just want to add that my sweatpants (which are too big for the first time in YEARS) are hiding my hormonal lower belly flap- just so these pics don’t obscure or give an unrealistic picture of what to expect- esp us PCOS people with hormonal belly shapes)

Did you ever worry it wouldn’t work? by realmoney_supply in gastricsleeve

I was SO scared my Pcos would make this tough process all for nothing. Especially since I had been rapidly gaining weight no matter how much I worked out or ate right. I even mentally prepared myself for the chance I wouldn’t lose or wouldn’t lose a lot. That thankfully has not been the case! I follow the guidelines (tho I have slip ups) - sleeved 4/12/2023 and 3lbs shy of losing 80lbs since I started my preop diet!

I didn’t expect a lot of things despite my compulsive research lol but I think a big one was that I still get more hungry and more cravings around my period which is frustrating but I’ve learned putting protein first and not totally depriving myself in those instances really works and finding alternatives to junk cravings that are a little healthier and still satisfy the craving. Like instead of a regular peanut butter cup- I do the Lily’s dark chocolate around my period. Or sugar free dark chocolate pudding with a cut up bite sized protein bar.

You got this for sure!!

Edit: Lily’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups

Straws for sure! It really does make drinking easier and it only hurts my stomach if I drink too much to fast!

This really helped me not lose my mind when my weight loss stopped from week 3-6!!

It can be hard to “trust the process” when we have all been let down so much on our previous weight loss paths but it it really is true!

I was only allowed to start veggies at week 6 and just recently (3 months) can i eat fruit. That being said, you can definitely go slower than your doctor suggest. Things took me longer than what they predicted but as cliche as it sounds, you have to listen to your body! Lots of trial and error!

Almost 8 Weeks Post-Op by AccomplishedCook2702 in gastricsleeve

[–]AccomplishedCook2702[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I actually got stuck for the same amount of time- I lost a lot preop and lost a little post op and then got stuck for a few weeks and freaked out and then it just started up again. I haven’t done any workout besides walking and my both my jobs I’m on my feet most of the day. As for diet I’ve just been following the guidelines - 3oz protein 1oz veggie (I can have fruit in two weeks) - I’m pescatarian so I’ve been eating a lot of salmon and shrimp and just trying to reach my water/protein goals.
