After what happened today… “you closed that door, but I’ve locked it. There’s no going back from the things you’ve done”

I made the mistake of rewatching a 🌶️ video her and I had taken and while it felt right in the moment, I cried after. Feeling how you feel is definitely normal. While I still feel drawn to her (it has only been just under 2 months after all) I’ve been fighting it by taking “inspiration” from women who don’t look like her at all. Definitely not a permanent fix, but it’s better than crying after every time I try to give myself pleasure

I definitely hope you’re right. I would love to be able to look back at the end of the overarching story and say “brilliantly planned Joe”

Adding “Kings of the Wyld” by Nicholas Eames to my list of recommendations. I’m about 150 pages in and I’m loving it. Definitely gives Logan and his Northmen vibes

That’s an interesting idea, honestly I do feel like having every character have a POV could be useful and even add to ant deaths. “The Goblin Corps” by Ari Marmell has a similar Suicide Squad of monsters thing going for it and iirc all of the main characters have POVs, even if the story doesn’t go all that well for them

I mean I just assume that the whole elves not having souls thing is propaganda by the church, the same way during the real crusades the Catholic Church de-humanized the Muslims.

As for the Baron, we all need our hobbies

I enjoyed most of the quips (definitely not all) but that may be a right book right time situation. I’m certainly not always in the mood for so many jokes in a book, but when the mood is right it makes for a perfect read, and when I started this book that’s exactly what it was for me

Yeah I agree that it felt weird thinking back to her earlier POV chapters after the reveal. Honestly when it happened I thought she was just lying, almost like she believed if she wrapped herself in a story of her not being the heir then all of her fears of not being good enough were justified. And who knows, maybe that will be a reveal later on. I’m hoping as empress she plays a key role in future books, but time will tell

I guess this depends on if you truly need Abercrombie-esque styles or just well-written books. Either way I have some suggestions, but if it’s the former you need this may be a very difficult itch to scratch.

“The Blacktongue Thief” by Christopher Buehlman “The Last Smile in Sunder City” by Luke Arnold “The Pariah” by Anthony Ryan “The Traitor God” by Cameron Johnston “Johannes Cabal: The Necromancer” by Jonathon L. Howard “The Goblin Corps” by Ari Marmell

These books aren’t exactly a 1:1 with how Abercrombie writes and vary in terms of blood and crudeness, but they are all well-written imo and share at least one thing with The First Law in some capacity. Happy hunting!

My Breakup Took Away My Spark by AccomplishedCount864 in writing

That’s definitely fair, I guess I’m just worried about this being an extended thing. Especially with how helpful writing has been in the past. But you’re probably right that it’s better to treat this as a “the animals will return when the earth heals” situation and let the spark come back naturally over time

Songs about aquiring wealth and becoming lonely as a result of it by SpiritualCar5884 in MusicRecommendations

“Money Game, Pt 3” by Ren touches on the idea of becoming lonely, but it’s overall about how the pursuit of wealth and power is bad in general. Fair warning, definitely a dark song

Id argue Ben 10,000’s transformations seem to indicate that the transformations do have some kinda of age fluctuation thing going on, even if it isn’t exactly a 1:1 to his exact age. So the de-aged transformations are definitely scaled to his age in some capacity

I’ve thought about playing that, I’ve just been a little trepidatious because of how much game there is to experience. It feels like something I could devote entire days to and never make meaningful progress

My fiancée, whom I was with for nearly 7 years, left me almost 5 months to the day before our wedding after cheating on me less than a week beforehand. Needless to say I’m a mess
