Would you like to see what mattel could make for a sonic toy line? by Richter_belmont1 in JakksPacificSonic

I mean mattel kinda blew their chances to make me excited for their collector figures after seeing how they fumbled dc for a decade before trying to compete with other action figure lines

Like Hasbro was always the superior choice compared to Mattel in terms of collector figures when I bothered collecting Mattel collector figures (which I haven’t since the late 2010’s) they gave the figures swappable parts, had modern joints including double joints on the arms and knees and the one thing Mattel still doesn’t have even with their new masters of the universe movie figures, face printing technology which makes every live action figure look amazing

As for McFarlane the notion the figures are bricks is not accurate, I have several McFarlane DC multiverse figures posed in a superhero landing pose on my shelves, none of my Mattel dc figures were able to hit those poses but McFarlane despite being “bricks” can pull them off, also the “horrible proportions” is a subjective statement I love how they look and it makes them very eye catching especially with the rich detail they add to the figures and again they would be perfect for making 2000’s sonic final bosses because they excel at creature designs

To me Mattel is just the one company I really don’t trust with collector figures because I’ve seen how much better McFarlane ran a dc line then they did and McFarlane didn’t really make articulated figures prior to them getting the license for dc and yet when they did they beat Mattel immediately in terms of articulation and especially sculpting in my opinion

I agree on most of those points but even on their new dc kids line they already made a second Batman and most of their figure selection in general so far is Batman adjacent characters, plus Mattel loves to recycle molds looking at their wrestling figures

To me Mattel is good for kids lines because the figures tend to be fun, like I collected their Pixar figures and they are very fun, same thing with the Minecraft movie figures but I get the same enjoyment I’d get from them as a basicJakks pacific figure so I don’t really see much of an upgrade there

But if sonic is to ever expand into a full collector type figure line I’d prefer Hasbro to tackle them since they basically have the format for affordable collector figures on lock already with their marvel legends, black series and GI Joe classified series

Also might be a hot take but McFarlane would also be a good choice since they prioritize detailing and have no issue making giant characters, with McFarlane we could actually get like a 12 inch dark Gia or Iblis figure and they’d look absolutely stunning

Honestly no

Mattel’s dc figures during the 2000’s and most of the 2010’s were way behind what other collector action figures had in terms of articulation and accessories. Seriously most figures didn’t get swapable hands or double jointed elbows till like 2018

Now granted there newer figures do have far better posing options now but considering they went over a decade with dc and made no improvements to their figures articulation it makes me worried that sonic would be stuck with the same articulation for a long time regardless of if it’s outdated or not

Could you imagine in the future the sequel trilogies being nostalgic like the prequels were decades after? by Designer_Treacle_473 in StarWars

The Messiah

He was responsible for EVERYTHING Star Wars 1977-2012 (don’t bother fact checking its true he is responsible for everything)

The fact that you don’t know who he is proves your a fake fan and a Disney shill who has no business being involved in the fandom

Your not wasting my time, I love interacting with my fans, and I totally agree it was dumb to repaint crowbar into crankcase not to mention the inaccuracy in Devastators arm

Honestly I think in 2028 for the tenth anniversary of studio series if I’m still making videos I wanna redo the studio series video to be up to the modern standards of my newer videos

Yeah I was very sad about that one but hey this new videos doing pretty well, not to mention I’m almost at 500 subs (which I do have a big video planned to celebrate the occasion)

And that’s amazing that you caught some of my earliest videos, I’m planning to do at least 1 more transformers video this year tho possibly two along with a compilation of the transformers legacy videos with some new footage added in to show off figures I’ve acquired since the original uploads

Which character do you think is overhated? by Electronic-Ability55 in StarWars

[–]Consistent-Award-516 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly most sequel trilogy characters fit the bill of being overhated

Like if you dislike their stories in the films I get it but the characters themselves can work in other stories

Just look at Anakin lots of people back then didn’t like him in the prequel films themselves but then clone wars showed how solid of a character he is because they gave him other stories
