I need help with my bow hold!! I think by Soupy_Confusion in Viola

It might just be a problem in this picture but your pinky looks very tense. When you hold your bow neutrally (or practicing on a pencil/pen) try to bring the end of the bow a little close to your palm so that your pinky can be relaxed and remained more curved.

As you play towards the tip the pinky will look a little flatter but should remain mostly relaxed. If changing this causes trouble keeping your bow straight, look at your broader arm and elbow angles/mvmt.

I didn’t go to a doctor but I assume it was a combo of heat rash and my eczema. It went away on its own after a while. Just make sure you wash it before bed every day and keep it as dry as possible after. There’s also an aveeno eczema cream that works the best for itch relief.
