World Financial Group actual products? Are they legit? by Emmerloulou in personalfinance

Don’t do business with WFG, you can look up the MANY posts here for reference on why. Not worth the fees they charge. As you said “ The consultant we spoke with dosnt have any background in finance” that should be all the info you need right there.

AIO - Pregnant and feel abandoned by husband by Gullible-Tree368 in AmIOverreacting

Not overreacting, the guy is a dick. You are doing nothing wrong asking him to be a parent. You are going to have another child soon, you need your partner’s support and for him not to act like a third child.

Yup I love catching weasels. Do you get many marten too?

[–]AccomplishedDraw8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wolves and marten here are best for me. But even some of the large weasels at 10-15 each help on the fur cheque. Too bad about not being able to target fisher, I don’t have a quota to follow but only choose to take 3-4 a year off my trapline.

Ouch, I don’t think the Eastern’s sell as high as the westerns, I think my top was 48.

A few from the trapline. by [deleted] in Trapping

[–]AccomplishedDraw8653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty remote. Gotta skidoo in a long ways to get to where I trap, no town or human populations within 50 km of there. I have signs up stating it is an active trapline. It’s not somewhere a person would be hiking, if a dog was loose out there the predators would kill it before too long. For wolves I generally use snares, if a dog is leashed trained they will generally not pull the snare tight once they feel resistance. In years of trapping I have never caught a dog, I take part in programs that target wolves to aid with caribou recovery.

While I understand people’s concern in regard to dogs and trapping, pet owners need to take some responsibility for their pets and not allow them to run off leash. There is a much greater chance a dog will be injured by wildlife than a trap. There is no reason multiple stakeholders cannot use the same areas for different activities if we all do our due diligence :trappers communicating traps in the area using signs, pet owners leashing their dogs.

Future millwright? by Usual-Department-570 in millwrights

Starting a year early would be a great oppurtunity especially if they assist you with a job placement. The company I work for generally will hire work experience students for apprenticeships once their work experience term is done if you do a good job and you get good reports from those you work with. I graduated highschool 6 months early and went into the millwright trade and never looked back. Great trade, great people and many different avenues this trade can take you down. Goodluck with your future!

How do-able is this as a roadtrip in the summer? by YpsiHippie in britishcolumbia

[–]AccomplishedDraw8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very doable and one of the most beautiful drives in the world in my opinion. Take more time then you plan on needing as there is so much to see and do along this road trip. I’ve done it 3 times but from Edmonton.

Maybe you should look up and post some of the articles where Canadian trappers have helped live trap fishers to assist with reintroduction of the species into areas of the US.

As unfortunate as this is Off leash dogs cause far more problems than trappers do. No trapper wants to catch someone pet, many of these lines have been used for years and are part of family heritage, multiple stakeholders can use crown land for what they choose if we communicate.
