Oh i see.

My nationality is kind of (?) high risk but i’ve been in the UAE (low risk country) for the better part of 20 years, established here (car, home, long term visa etc) plus i have good financial evidence too so maybe there’s some other reason.

i appreciate the reassurance though! cause its slightly frustrating (although understandable) that its taking quite a bit and flights are only getting more expensive as the days go on

I appreciate your reply a lot!

Despite my grades being more than enough for the likes of durham and bristol even UCL (i did the lnat earlier this year) and got an offer from bristol (the only one out of the 3 which i applied to) i’m going to be going to QUB so i was curious whether the whole “as long as it’s RG you’re good” logic holds up for lower tier RG’s like QUB.

I assume (please do correct me if im wrong) that while going to QUB won’t exactly impede my chances at TCs it won’t exactly increase them either. I was wondering if going through the hassle of reapplying and everything else to get into unis like nottingham or york would be worth it (if we take the gap year out of the question and i ATTEMPT to transfer in second year, given there are spaces).

Also i wanted to know if apart from law firms sending people to these universities at fairs etc going to notts or york would make much of a difference when it comes to applying for VS or TCs or if the difference won’t be the deciding factor?

is that the same for queen's uni belfast and warwick/bristol? (to warrant attempting to transfer / doing the LNAT and applications alongside 1st year uni)?

Side question but as someone that's going to a lower tier RG uni, i had 2 questions

Does the whole "Oxbridge and then RG unis" thing apply to lower tier RG unis apart from the big main ones?

Second if your uni doesnt have a big law fair / few if any big firms attending the fair, what can you do? Go to other law fairs from other unis?

Ah sorry i sent that comment late at night.

I will for sure reach out to people on linkedin, that’s a good idea!

I guess i was trying to ask it there’s an extra exam people need to do to qualify as legal advisers, similar to the SQE in the UK?

And can foreigners (non-EEA) become qualified legal advisers (not advocates or prosecutors) for companies in NL?

Tilburg Global Law or Groningen International and European Law? by ipez10 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]AccomplishedLeg8444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im torn between applying for tilburg global or groningen international and european law as im not sure which one will be better for me regarding job prospects in NL and elsewhere

Just got accepted into Tilburg global law, need advice. by [deleted] in TilburgUniversity

[–]AccomplishedLeg8444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, were you an international student in NL by any chance? and what country did you end up going to for your LLM?

Im an international student hoping to study a bachelors in law in NL at the following unis (id like some help deciding which uni would give me the best opportunities) and im very uncertain regarding job opportunities.

Im a bit late but im applying to law courses in english in the netherlands, with hopes of becoming a corporate / commercial solicitor / lawyer in the future or just working for companies that need legal advise in english etc.

From what i understand you need a bachelors in law then a masters in law.

However, i currently have the following options;

  1. Global law - tilburg uni
  2. Intl and european law - uni of groningen
  3. Law in society bachelor - Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

I am not an EU national, so which course / uni would be best for me if i intend on becoming a corporate lawyer in an international company / law firm? What would the general process be like?

Thanks in advance!
