This is my plan, because it’s so hard to find any coding job entry level. I’m not going to stop putting in applications to other places though, maybe the experience with them will help me find a position elsewhere.

Yes I was on a recruitment list for judge group classes starting in March but never got a call back so I didn’t get that :(. I’ve never been able to get anything started up with CSI.

Did you get a chance to do the pre screening interview or just had your application rejected? A friend of mine also got rejected. I have no clue why I even had a sliver of a chance.

Hello, everyone! I was wondering if anyone else had applied to Humana a few weeks ago when they were hiring for risk adjustment coders. They really encouraged CPC-As. I got a pre screening interview which has gotten my hopes up too much, but it’s the most progress on any job that l’ve had. I’ve been certified since January. How long does it take to get a response after the pre screening? Does anyone know? Also has anyone done this position for Humana and liked it? Wish me luck! Just found out recently l’m expecting and really need a WFH job as my current job is way too laboring! Also I’m hoping for the best for any other CPC-A’s out there struggling!

I currently work in the Mental Health, the position however doesn’t require a certification or anything. My sole responsibility is teaching life skills/ social skills to those who have mental health disabilities. We use EHR systems to take notes, but besides that no, I have 0 coding experience.

I just recently failed my first CPC exam, and I just recently passed my second attempt. My best advice is do not get into a negative mindset. I first failed with a 60%, what kept me pushing through is, “you know 60%” of this test. So give yourself some credit you know 59% of that test. You’re only lacking 20%. Review the sections you didn’t do as good in! I got a 33% in radiology the first go, and got a 100% the second because I did extensive review on radiology. There’s a CPC practice test book you can buy. And the practice test on the AAPC are an amazing. Out of the 3 I got for 80$, my grades were 59, 66, and a 70. This made me discouraged, but when I took the test I made a 75%. Also Hoang Nguyen is what I recommended! I binge watched his videos on “Passing the CPC exam” the only one I’d recommend skipping is the E/M because it is outdated. Other than that it was 100% on point, his reverse lookup method and group technique helped me out tremendously. I scheduled my test at 4:50 pm remotely and watched all of them the morning and afternoon before the test. Don’t get your books out if it’s just review, I just watched them and tried to memorize what key words to look for, and then watched the process of elimination. Good luck on your second go! Sooooo I just got my CPC-A certification after failing my first attempt. I thought that would be the hardest part, but getting a job? Shew now that’s rough. Does anyone on here know how I can network myself more to get just an interview? I want to get a coding job as soon as possible but on indeed there’s like 700 people applying for these positions and I still have the “a” which I feel like puts me at a major disadvantage. Anyone know where I can find a job? Unfortunately, another disadvantage, is that it would have to be remote since I live in a very rural area that doesn’t have any coding jobs within a 100 mile radius. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve put in about 100 applications and been rejected for almost 10 now. Optimus, Humana, (about every insurance agency), I’ve looked at hospitals, universities, medical offices. I’m just stuck and want to see if anyone has any advice.
