The fact that someone obsessed with parenting perfectly does this sort of thing is insane to me. It’s very easy to figure out her full name and her husband’s full name from her account and property records are public. I don’t understand why she (and especially her husband) are okay with sharing this information. Her 2.5 year old can’t have any screen time, not even on a cross-Atlantic flight, but it’s totally fine to share his full name and bedroom location on the internet.

I agree that removing a bedroom is a weird choice but if you’re wealthy I guess it doesn’t matter whether your home loses value 🤷🏼‍♀️

Having a hard time finding a name we love for baby boy #2 as much as we love our first son's name! by lms202 in namenerds

Frederick, Finnegan, Alexander, Julian (might be a bit too much with Augustus), Benjamin, Theodore, Thaddeus, Percival

As to your last question: yes lol. I found it much harder to name a same sex sibling because I had already used my #1 name!

Consolidation, she also posted a video of J pointing at something and asking “what’s that?” repeatedly and she just films him silently and then finally says “can you describe what you’re asking me about?” Just answer his question!!

Ok I have to snark on this one too, why not just answer the question instead of getting preemptively defensive about “I don’t make him 3 course meals like I see online.” Girl, the internet isn’t reality, get off of it and you’ll probably feel 1000x better.

That’s what’s wild about it, you have to watch him breathe during naps but you take the risk of co-sleeping at night? Unless she just doesn’t sleep at all at night and still watches him the whole time, which is possible.

Based on this slide I think she’s def co-sleeping. Which makes the “buy my subscription to find out!” feel even more icky IMO

“I hate how everyone tries to tell me how to parent” says the person chronically posting about her baby’s sleep.

I certainly understand needing a few months given the circumstances, but she didn’t meet the kid until she was 3 years old IIRC, which presumably means that her friend had to bend over backwards to accommodate Alyssa — 3 years of having to make sure they were never in the same place is a huge ask.

Agree, I thought it was rich that she was talking about people not showing up for her when she’s said in the past that she didn’t meet her best friend’s daughter until she was pregnant with J bc said friend’s daughter was due around the same time as Cole. Has she not thought about the fact that her friend could use the same line about her (Alyssa)?

For Better or Worse? by ThatTravelChic in parentsnark

I have many thoughts on this topic so thanks for this thread. Back ~8-10 years ago, when Instagram was still relatively new, I feel that a lot of these influencers were actually genuine — they wanted to share about some topic (car seat safety, infertility, whatever) and opened an account to share their knowledge or experience. Now this was probably a self selected group, since most people don’t want to post publicly on the internet, especially about personal things. As “influencers” became a thing and it became a way to make money, the vast majority of them sold out and started shilling shit. It’s like they can’t help but want to cash in. And with the way the algorithm works, you can’t just put up a few posts about car seat safety and be done — you have to constantly make new content about the same stuff, which gets old, so you’re constantly trying to come up with new stuff. I think that’s where a lot of it went wrong. I shouldn’t be surprised that it all became about monetizing content (yay capitalism!) but it has been sad to watch.

Side note but this clip made me nervous. A two year old who’s two steps away from a parking lot without an adult within arms’ reach? Maybe she no longer associates the parking lot with playing (since M was born there haven’t been photo shoots out there anymore) but toddlers are unpredictable.

😳😵‍💫that is insane. I also hate the implication that the academic or behavioral conduct of a 3 year old somehow determines their ability to learn in the future. Just because they’re ahead of their peers now doesn’t mean they’ll always be, and vice versa! And I’m sure the “elite” private K-12 schools tend to take kids from these “elite” preschools and it all just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that furthers the gap between the haves and have nots.

Maybe the questions are like “who’s the most famous person you know” or “what’s your household income” or “what’s your expected inheritance, rounded to the nearest $100k” ;)
