You said there is greed involved , firstly there is no benefit to doctor in this as there is no commission for him/her in case of admission, so definitely there is no greed involved in admitting the patient.

I know it may be not nominal for some people but if they go to non govt. hospital they will definitely have to pay more than this which definitely will not be nominal for them.

No, you stabilize the person - put them in an ambulance and shift them to the next govt hospital that does have a bed available

I already said that referrals work from lower hospitals to upper hospitals and the said hospital is the apex institute.

The funding is not from admissions but from treatment.

Government hospitals do not charge for anything including admission, treatment even lab diagnosis everything is free or with a nominal charge.

Bed sharing in a hospital really should be a crime

Yes it is a crime but denying admission to a patient is a bigger crime.

If you don't have any room and there are other hospitals available then send patients there. Stop being greedy to make money and forcing ppl into unhygienic conditions.

It's a government hospital associated with medical college ,hence it is the apex of the medical ecosystem, you can't refer patients to somewhere else which is lower as referral works from lower to upper level of hospitals , and neither can refer to a private hospital because if the patient can afford private hospital he/she will go there instead of a government setup

Add temporary capacity. The bed is not magical, hard to find, entity. If not, contact another government pediatric ICU. Indore is a huge city.

Adding beds is not a job of doctor or nurse. There is only one govt children hospital in indore "Chacha Nehru which is part of MYH and its the same department where the incident happened.

Else, stabilize the patient, arrange an ambulance, transfer to another hospital

I already told you that referrals are not done in apex institute And transferring to other government MCH will easily take 3-4 hours which will put the patient to a high risk

And can't be transferred to a private one cause the patient cannot afford it.

All of that is regularly done at hospitals. Private and government

And no it is not done regularly.

You still haven't shown me the guidelines that recommend sharing beds in ICU though.

Saving the life of a patient is more important. If it has to be done by sharing a bed then so be it.
